Let’s talk about wedding deposits. As a wedding vendor, I only take on a limited number of clients per weekend—sometimes just one. That’s why deposits are non-refundable… because if you cancel, I likely can’t rebook that date.
But here’s the thing… sometimes, it’s okay. This week, I refunded a deposit. It was small wedding, I kind of wanted that weekend off 😝, and honestly—it just felt like the right thing to do.
The big lesson? NEVER spend a client’s deposit before their event. Keep it in a separate account. That money isn’t yours until the job is done. Not only does this keep your business profitable, but it also protects you when unexpected situations arise.
Wedding vendors—how do you handle deposits? Let’s talk about it!

Clean buckets = happy, long-lasting flowers! ✨ It might seem like a small step, but properly cleaning your floral buckets with a mix of bleach and water is key to keeping bacteria away and extending the life of your blooms.
After scrubbing, let the buckets air dry completely—this gives the bleach time to fully disinfect and do its job! And don’t forget your tools—clean clippers and knives are just as important for flower longevity. 🌸🧼
A little extra care goes a long way for fresher, healthier flowers! 💐 #FloristTips #floraldesign #FreshFlowers #floraldesigner #florist #homebasedflorist #flowers

I wasted too much of my life in this today 🤣
What would I plan if I were to plan the wedding of my worst enemy? You’re looking at it folks! I hope you like sparkling cider and jello salad with a side of cat hair!
What theme should I do next week?

Delivery Part 2
Not to brag, but I was the MVP of Valentine’s Day flower deliveries back in my shop days! 🌹💪 My team, family, and every friend I could wrangle helped pull off 250 regular bouquets, 400 dozen red roses for a restaurant, AND 100+ pickups—all in one day. How did we do it? SYSTEMS.
✨ We used my signature ‘menu system’ to streamline designs (details in my guide!).
✨ We staggered delivery drivers throughout the day for seamless routes.
It was controlled chaos, but SO much fun! If you’re gearing up for Valentine’s Day this year—trust me, you’ve got this! ❤️

Want to take your floral designs to the next level? 🌿 Let’s talk about using natural elements like dogwood branches or curly willow! These versatile sticks add height, texture, and structure to any arrangement, instantly making it more dynamic and eye-catching. 💐
Here’s the secret: adding height and texture not only enhances the design but also increases its perceived value. When your arrangements look more intricate and luxurious, they naturally command a higher price. Those towering branches and layered textures create a sense of grandeur, making your work stand out from the competition. 🪴✨
Clients are willing to pay more for designs that feel custom, artistic, and one-of-a-kind. By incorporating elements like curly willow or dogwood, you’re elevating the entire arrangement, turning it into a statement piece that looks worth every penny.

💌 Valentine’s Day Delivery Tips for Success! 🌹
Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year for deliveries, and timing is EVERYTHING! To make sure your customers feel the love, here’s how to stay organized:
1️⃣ Route by zip code: Start by organizing your deliveries based on zip codes. This keeps your routes efficient and saves time.
2️⃣ Group zip codes into routes: Once you’ve sorted by zip, create logical routes for your drivers. Fewer back-and-forth trips = more happy recipients!
3️⃣ Provide recipient phone numbers: Make sure your drivers have contact info for every recipient. It’s a lifesaver for tricky deliveries and ensures no one misses out on their special surprise!
With these tips, you’ll deliver smiles (and love!) all day long. 💕
📦✨ Let’s make this Valentine’s Day unforgettable!

Ignore the TV in the background. Working from a home studio means life and flowers overlap, which is okay!
Save time and boost your efficiency by batching your floral designs! 🌿
Instead of making one arrangement at a time, work on 5–10 pieces in stages. Start by adding greenery to all your arrangements, then move on to roses, followed by carnations, and so on.
Focusing on one step at a time keeps your workflow smooth, reduces wasted effort, and ensures your designs are consistent.
It’s the perfect way to work faster, waste less, and create beautiful, cohesive arrangements—especially for busy days or large events!

🎄 PSA: You don’t need to buy all new Christmas tree decor every year! 🙅♀️ Let’s be real—decorating a tree can get expensive fast, and most people aren’t switching up their theme annually.
🌟 Instead, pick a theme you truly love and stick with it! Build on it year after year by adding little touches—like larger ornaments, smaller ones, ribbon, picks, or whatever speaks to you. There’s no right or wrong when it comes to making your tree feel special and uniquely yours.
✨ Remember: it’s not about perfection, it’s about enjoying the process and making it personal. So, save this as a reminder, and share with a friend who could use some budget-friendly holiday inspo! 🎁🎄

Head over to @loweshomeimprovement or @homedepot to score some FREE Christmas greens!
They are usually in a crate in the garden section. Take as many as you would like, completely free.
On that same note though. Don’t forget your local tree farm or Christmas tree lot. Many of the tree lots are landscape/ lawn care businesses that are looking to make ends meet during the winter months.
Head over to your local tree lot and buy a stunning fresh Christmas tree while keeping your dollars LOCAL 🎄 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

When people ask why I’m a home-based floral designer, the answer is simple: I love being home with my 2- and 4-year-old. The giggles, the stories, the chaos, and the fun make every day so special. 🌸💕
Is it always easy or perfect? Absolutely not! 😂 We have hard days just like everyone else, but the beauty of this setup is that I can do what I love while being with the ones I love most.
And let me say this loud and clear: being home-based doesn’t make you any less of a designer. Your talent isn’t measured by whether you pay rent or not. My flowers are stunning, and my kids near—sounds like a win-win to me! 🌷✨
