“ There's this place we're gonna ride
Up where the rimrock meets the night
We'll go hand in hand
Ridin' through the purple star light
And the coyote on the wind
Sends his lonely lover's call
We'll hold each other close
In the wonder of it all “
~ Ian Tyson ~
A songwriting hero & friend to so many. Deepest condolences to Ian’s family, neighbors, friends & fans. ❤️

Doing a great job of leading in the background are Keaton Kenzie Reagan and Gabe.

Lessons resumed in October and it was so good to have music in the house again!
Everyone had a great month but Kudos this time around go to Emily Robinson. She made it to 5th string notes and is well on her way to to achieving her first 6 Christmas songs in the key of C.
Quite an accomplishment for a grade two student.
Way to go girl.

Thanks to Judy for sharing this one.
Ryan in a western shirt and Stephen with a western belt?
Must have been their mother dressing them. 🥴
31/08/2022
Happy girl.

Thank you Carol Lindsay! Your cucs made Victoria so happy. 4 1/2 hrs from the time we met at at the Barnwell corner to come to your house and a quick stop at Justine’s to pick up jars and we are done! 23 1/2 quarts of Tyrell’s favourite spicey dills and she will be able to serve them at their wedding next summer!
We make a heck of a team.

Congratulations to Lillie Simkin. She moved up to a full size violin.
She has a half size one with a good case needing a new home.
Anyone interested can get Donna’s number from me.

Last one! Proof that Bruce Gould was there to help us out. We’re always better with Bruce back there on the guitar or the piano.

Look what I got Kathy!

A few memories from the camp out at Brightsands Lake with the Etherington’s.
29/08/2022
We met a very friendly fellow who just happened to be one of the RCMP officers who rode the North trail with the 125th Anniversary ride commemorating the forming of the force and the March West. He remembers us when we entertained at the campfire at the rest stop at the Toma farm at Harry Hill.
He shared his arthritis remedy that he swears by.
One bag of golden raisins
Cover with dry Gin (not Lemon)
Leave for 4 days
Steal out and Eat nine raisins a day when you get up
I jokingly said it probably makes your morning happy.!
He says you could pass a breathelizer
If you had to.
I’m willing to try it 😃

RiP. Chris Christopherson.

The poor glads were badly beaten by the hail but they survived.

Belated Thanks to Heather for the tasty meal! The hills looked so beautiful and these two amigos look so contented.

We were honoured to be asked to be a part of the Memorial Jamboree last weekend for our friend and mighty fine bass player Bob Brown from Lloydminster.
He lost his third battle with cancer last winter and the family chose to wait till his friends and fans could get together.
We said goodbye as most musicians would choose to. With people on the dance floor and singling along with favourite tunes.
Another good one gone.

You can just see how much trouble Victoria has gathering the horses. Just stand in the corner with the oats and wait. It doesn’t take long. 😁
And another teaser. Love that harmonica work Tyrell. Victoria is doing great on the flattop considering she just started playing at the beginning of COVID!
Last night’s progress on the family band album. We have finished Tyrell’s tracks! 🎶🎻🎤🪗 Our hope is to have it available at the Lions Gun Show.
Serena Mackenzie gets to share kudos as well. This video demonstrates a perfect example of “playing through a mistake”! Wait till the next measure and then jump back in and finish on time. We’ll done girl.
Thanks to Landon Letniak and Kenzie and Keaton Schaffer for being brave enough to answer Reverend Kwon’s request for Christmas music during the nativity displays at the church last Saturday. Though they were totally unrehearsed they gave it their best shot! I’m so proud of you all.
I meant to share this video last spring! Just found it again ! These two sisters have done amazingly well after a short year of lessons. A great job done by Mackenzie and Serena.
Thanks to Darcy West for joining us at the Battle River lodge in Wainwright! The residents loved it🤩 and so did we.
We stopped in at the Islay Assisted Living Facility to surprise and say hello and play some tunes for Gordon Gould but he surprised us by marching down the hall with his fiddle and joining right in. Considering he’s 99 that’s pretty special.
Had to share this. Justine was our lighting tech as you can see the only lights we had was her phone! ( we were on a generator for power!) She still managed a mighty fine duet with Tyrell. And we can see Kelsey back there with her mandolin 😁
We had to make “do” for a stage at the Cereal Bronc Bustin! Wyatt brushed off the Arena dust and joined us for a few tunes after the performance.
