Pssstttt... just a friendly reminder that your ring bearer should doesn't REALLY carry the rings! The best man does.

Even if they are an older ring bearer... even if they are objectively a relaxed kiddo that won't freak out walking down the aisle...

It's gonna be a big hell Nah from me, girlfriend. Don't risk it!

Instead, have them carry a sweet sign. These days, the ring bearer and flower girl roles are more of a way to include those younger family members that mean so much to you (rather than actually fulfilling a big responsibility!)

And while we are on the topic of small children & reminders, remember to have a trusted adult sitting in the front row that your ring bearer and flower girl can go sit with during the ceremony! It seems like such a simple detail but it really is important that they know the person they are supposed to sit with, so they don't get scared, and they aren't fidgety throughout your whole ceremony 😉

Let's talk invites babe. I'm not going to sugarcoat it... creating the guest list can suck. It forces you to think about
relationships, family drama, or how many people would be mad if you don’t give them a plus one.

Some of you may know exactly who you want to invite- in which case, huge kudos because this will
be a lil’ bit easier for you. However, some of you may battle your parents wanting to invite
their neighbors you’ve never met or a long-lost aunt you’ve only met once in your life.

The best way to tackle this is by categorizing your guests.

First you have the VIPs. These are family members and your ride or dies.

Then you have your B list. These are people that get the invite if they fit in your budget. You won't push the envelope for them.

Then we have the plus ones. You need to determine if you’ll allow plus ones and if so what is the criteria. In my experience, most of my brides have only offered a plus one if their guest is in a long-term relationship, not a recent casual fling. It is A-OK not to give people a plus one. At the end of the day, it’s your wedding and your money, so it’s your decision and they have to deal with it... okay?

Okay girl it is time to get going! One of the hardest parts about planning a wedding is getting together all the vendors you need for each part of your big day. It can be super overwhelming- I totally get it! You're probably at that phase where there's just so much to do it feels impossible to do anything 😂 You just need to start and roll with the punches as you go girl! Let me give you a few places to begin looking for your vendors as a head start!

1. Let's start with the obvious one... GOOGLE IT! Although it can be overwhelming because there is SO much out there, it is a great resource. Use it to your advantage, but move on to something else if you start feeling stressed by all of the information!

2. Instagram! Searching different hashtags for weddings in your area is one of the best ways to find people and see examples of their work!

3. Industry Wedding Sites! There are a ton of wedding industry-specific websites that advertise a ton of different vendors.

4. Family & Friends- probably one of the easier routes to take. They know you best! If anyone in your circle has gotten married recently be sure to reach out to them and asked who they used and if they liked them!

5. Vendors! You are probably confused by this one, but if you already have a photographer or caterer or a whatever that you know you are using ask them who they like to work with or have worked with before! These are some of the best recommendations you can get.

THE DRESS 😍 For a lot of the girls I work with their wedding dress is the dress of their dreams, something they saved up for, and honestly want to sleep in it (I get it girl!).

Believe it or not if you are not prepared your dress can cause you some problems, and I'm talking about that damn bustle! Make sure you figure out how to bustle it BEFORE YOUR WEDDING and make sure you have a designated person who knows how to help you.

Trust me, you don't want your bustle delaying your reception!!

My biggest piece of advice to future bride's watching wedding season happen as they are planning their own wedding is to be confident in your decisions and don't ask too many people what they think.

A lot of people ask me why I love what I do so much and for me the answer is simple, I love getting to work with couples who become some of my closest friends and to be a part of one of the biggest days of their lives.

Growing up my mom was always planning elaborate celebrations and I carefully observed the process every time there was a new event. As a kid the preparation of the event was so exciting. Seeing all the vendors get set up, all the guests lining up, and my mom calling the shots; I loved watching her do her thing.

As I got older my career path took me into corporate world, but I still found myself always being the party planner in my free time. Eventually I realized that my heart was in wedding planning and my business was born.

I have helped nearly 230 couples walk down the aisle, and I am continuing to plan for new couples all the time! But, there is only so much I can do as one person. Trust me, if I could multiply myself into 5 Kimberly's I would... but the world isn't there yet.

Listen babe, the wedding planning process, as fun as it is, can get you down sometimes. Things don't go as planned, your dream team is booked for your date, the dress you always pictured is out of budget, whatever it is there will be moments where you want to throw in the towel. For those moments I have one piece of advice... LET THAT S**T GO!

I know I know easier said than done, but at the end of the day pulling your hair out isn't helping anyone. So take 10 minutes, get it all out, and keep going. I am here for you every step of the way girl!
