Posting this a bit late, but it was much needed. We wanted a quiet escape for Christmas and were looking for a charming place with character, warmth, and of course modern amenities. Auberge du Vieux-Port, @aubergevieuxport , in Old Montreal turned out to be everything that we hoped for and more. Here's why I loved it: An intimate boutique hotel beautifully blending modern luxury with old-world charm. From historical details to rustic touches like timbered ceilings, pine floors, and vintage stone and brick walls, the atmosphere was incredibly charming. The panoramic views of the St. Lawrence River and the Vieux-Port district added to the allure. In close walking proximity to various restaurants, shops, and attractions such as the Ferris Wheel, Science Center, and Notre-Dame Basilica - just to name a few - the location couldn't have been any more convenient and enjoyable. Taverne Gaspar, their onsite restaurant, impressed with delicious food and drinks- they have a fantastic wine cellar too. I loved how, as hotel guests, we were able to sit by the fireplace in The Living Room (lobby area) during our meals, taking in the cozy and romantic ambiance while enjoying good food. I noticed this restaurant was a lively spot (in general) during the entire stay. The hotel also has a rooftop terrace restaurant (closed in winter), which I'm sure is very popular during the summertime. Can you imagine how breathtaking it would be to set up for an intimate wedding on the rooftop? They do weddings! And the best part, the exceptional customer service—while Canadians are known for their kindness, even by their standards, I felt their customer service was outstanding. ☺️👌🏽 Whether you're traveling for business, a quick escape, or even considering an elopement or wedding, definitely check out this hotel. - Mevy #oldmontreal #vacation #destinationwedding
