Hiring a wedding planner .....

This will depend on your budget, but if your funds allow or if your peace of mind depends on it ... it’s time to hire your wedding planner.

This person will be your right-hand woman or man. They will guide you in all decisions, from selecting a venue to tracking your budget. The average wedding takes 150 hours to plan and you don’t want anything to fall between the cracks. A good wedding planner will let you make all the final decisions, have all contracts with vendors in your name so you know exactly what it being paid out and what services the vendor will be providing and keep a detailed spreadsheet of all items, costs and deposits at your disposal.

Don’t let these important wedding details fall through the cracks ....

1. Trust your wedding planner to take care of all the unexpected mishaps which may happen on the day of your wedding. This is your day and it should be stress free

2. Have a contingency plan for bad weather

3. Know when the sun will set, you will want to get the best lighting for your pictures

4. Arrange transportation for the bridal party and transportation for the bride and groom after reception

5. Designate a photo wrangle - a family member or friend who can get behind the scene pictures of the day. You will be surprised of the beautiful pictures you will get of your guest enjoying themselves

6. On the RSVP card ask if there are any food allergies or dietary restrictions

7. Bring a change of clothes for later in the evening and assign someone to bring home your wedding dress and suit

8. Book a hotel block for out of town guess

9. Write a do not play list for your DJ

10. Make sure you eat and are well hydrated through the day
