Ever heard of the Macedonian Bread Dance? It’s a symbolic wedding ritual in which a round loaf of bread is passed among dancers while they move in a circle, symbolizing the joining of the families. The bread represents prosperity, unity and abundance for the new couple. The bread is later broken over the grooms head, releasing blessings for the marriage.
