ACJ & Barry Burrito vs. Horus & TBA
Brothers In Arms championship tournament semi-final match

After failing to make it to team with [REDACTED] stablemate William Cutting, ACJ was stunned to find the Chosen One moving forward in the Brothers In Arms tournament teaming with replacement partner Spartan. To remedy the situation, the former Hand Of Fate champion entered himself in the tournament with full intention to go it alone against UKO's Fabulance Lance Adams and Victoria Ryan, but offered anyone out the back a chance to team with the Workhorse. Answering the call to the surprise of many, including ACJ himself, was beloved luchadore Barry Burrito. After Burrito ended up scoring the victory for the unlikely team, ACJ thanked Burrito with a low blow before carrying him backstage, leaving many to wonder how exactly the unorthodox pairing will fare in the tournament moving forward.

Few wrestlers are as synonymous with Heathen Combat as Horus. The man known as the Ace of Heathens won the One Above All championship from Sir Mr. Burns KNZM, before defending it on both sides of the Tasman, leaving a bloody legacy that saw him become the Duke Of Death. Horus has since become a lynchpin of the New Zealand scene, winning gold in Professional Wrestling Entertainment, Impact Pro Wrestling, Capital Pro Wrestling and Legacy Pro Wrestling, as well as leaving an impression in Australia at Deathmatch Downunder. Entering the Brothers In Arms tournament alongside Phoenix Tallion, Horus defeated occasional allies Nu Blood in a Bring Your Own Weapons match at WrestleFest, leading many to pick the pairing as favourites to win the tournament. However, after Tallion announced his move to the UK, Horus has been left without a partner, and with the landscape of Heathen Combat changing since his last appearance, fans have been left wondering who the Duke will choose as his new teammate.

Can the unlikely team of ACJ and Barry Burrito pull off a huge upset, or will the Duke Of Death and his mystery partner reign supreme?

After defeating The Scene A.J. Murtagh and Charybdis at WrestleFest to move forward in the Brothers In Arms tournament, The Gunn Cabinet looked to be on top of the world as one of the most popular factions in the country. Then, the group turned on founding member Ryan Zero, changing their attitude and becoming one of the most despicable groups on the scene, spreading their sphere of influence to River City Pro Wrestling and Unified Championship Wrestling, growing in numbers and winning plenty of championships.

Leading into the group's semi-final match against William Cutting and Spartan, we've received the following message from Ray Gunn, who seems to have a bone to pick specifically with the former [REDACTED] member.

At WrestleFest 2023, we began our tournament to crown our inaugural tag team champions. Since then, the landscape of Heathen Combat has changed dramatically. Now, at next month's "heavydirtysouls," four teams meet in the semi-finals to decide who will make their way to the grand finals next January.

In August of 2022, then-One Above All and ICW No Holds Barred American Deathmatch world champion 'The Smash Hit' Joel Bateman, fresh off winning the title from Horus at "Waltzing Off The Face Of The Earth" and defending it against Rugged Vic Craig and JT Hollow at Reaper Pro's "Open The Cemetery Gates," successfully made his way to the finals of Deathmatch Downunder's D.R.E.A.M. tournament.

Spartan vs. William Cutting

Considered one of the best wrestlers in the New Zealand scene, Spartan has been a fixture of shows up and down the country, holding titles everywhere he goes. The former Impact Pro Wrestling and Hughes Academy of Professional Wrestling champion, who recently returned from another tour of the United Kingdom, made his Heathen Combat debut as a replacement tag partner for William Cutting when ACJ was unable to attend "The Show Is Called It's Called What's It Called," helping Cutting defeat Bobby Wisheart and TE KAHA to move forward in the Brothers In Arms tournament.

A founding member of [REDACTED] alongside Bryant and Lily Fae, William Cutting has been a fixture of Heathen Combat since our debut show. Previously holding top titles in Professional Wrestling Entertainment, Unified Championship Wrestling and Capital Pro Wrestling simultaneously, Cutting's ruthless and cunning ways have seen him draw the ire of wrestlers across the country. Eyeing up his next title, the Chosen One had planned to win the Brothers In Arms championships and bring them back to [REDACTED], but a late replacement of ACJ has seen his plans thwarted with the arrival of Spartan as his partner.

Following several disagreements as a team, the pair faced off against Voidheart' JT Hollow in a handicap match, which they would lose due to their conflicting egos. After being told they would face The Gunn Cabinet in the semi-finals of the tournament, owner Michael Greene booked the pair to face off one-on-one in a last ditch effort to get their frustrations out of their system and get on the same page.

Can the Last Of The 300 and The Chosen One find common ground, or will this match prove the final nail in the team's coffin?

The team of Spartan and William Cutting came up short against JT Hollow at October's "Our Lawyers Made Us Change The Name Of The Show," due in no small part to the lack of co-operation between the two as a team.

After picking up the win due to infighting, Voidheart took the opportunity to pass on some advice to the two former champions, before owner Michael Greene took drastic matters regarding their matches this November - Before facing The Gunn Cabinet in the Tag Title Tournament semi-finals at "heavydirtysouls," the pair will go one-on-one at "When Good Dogs Do Bad Things" in a last ditch effort to get the pair to air all their grievances.

Tag Team championship tournament first round match

Originally a member of The Young Nats, ACJ was violently removed from the group after failing to bring gold to Church And State. At "Choose Death," he bounced back from a loss to Sir Mr. Burns by winning a multi-person match to claim the vacant Hand Of Fate and gain entry into [REDACTED], a move which saw his luck change. Alongside William Cutting and Bryant, the self-proclaimed Workhorse became an antagonistic presence in Impact Pro Wrestling, Maniacs United, and Capital Pro Wrestling, where he used the cunning and viciousness he learned from his stablemates to become a two-time Legacy Cup holder. Losing the Hand Of Fate to Tommy Fusion at WrestleFest, ACJ has now set his sights on the Aotearoa Flyweight championship, defeating Dusty Bridges and Zac Hayle to book a spot in the finals. Unable to make our last event, "The Show Is Called It's Called What's It Called," ACJ was frustrated to learn Cutting had moved forward in the Tag Title Tournament teaming with Spartan, but after consulting with Bryant, ACJ let Heathen management know he has a partner he will reveal on the night.

Fabulance Lance Adams and Victoria Ryan, known as UKO, may be new to Heathen Combat, but the pairing have been causing strife in Maniacs United and Hughes Academy of Professional Wrestling, be it as a pairing, or as members of the short-lived F.E.A.R. with Jackson Graves. Adams, who is a former New Zealand Professional Wrestling Tag Team champion with Tyler Chase as Fashion And Passion, managed to do the unthinkable by unseating Rugged Vic Craig for the Jackson Shield in a deathmatch, stunning the Maniacs United audience and roster alike, before losing both championships at the following event. Victoria Ryan, originally a backstage interviewer for CPW and Heathen Combat, before moving in-ring and breaking onto the scene with a huge win over Frankie Quinn. Ryan continued to shock audiences with a win over Horus, as well as taking part in the brutal assault on El Besto that led to him returning as Pariah. Recently, the pair have been a thorn in the side of Bobby Wisheart , causing the All Heart multiple losses through devious means.

Sir Mr. Burns KNZM vs. Silver Studd

One of the most cunning and dangerous men in all of New Zealand wrestling, Sir Mr. Burns has managed to hold championships in nearly every promotion across the country. Managing to force an injured Kai Solomon to forfeit the One Above All at "The Difference Between You And Me...," Burns held the title until the end of the evening, when Horus cashed in his Hand Of Fate contract for a Bar Room Brawl and pinned the champion. As the leader of the Young Nats, Burns, alongside Church And State collaborator James Shaw, continues to be a thorn in the side of anyone unlucky enough to cross his path, including getting a measure of revenge on Horus when he defeated the Duke Of Death for the Capital Pro Wrestling Heavyweight championship. After losing the title to Tim Warren, Burns recently bounced back by becoming number one contender to Horus' Impact Pro Wrestling Heavyweight championship, guaranteeing the long-term feud between the two is far from over.

One half of the Retro Warriors opposite Ricky Vegas, newcomer Silver Studd burst onto the local scene earlier this year in a leather clad flurry of neon glory. Having faced the likes of Luke Starr, Liam Erikson and Jay Marshal, Studd recently tagged with Dan Martins to face off against The Ego Trip, Harry Williams and Freddy Forde, defeating the pairing and in the process, further earning the ire of The Gunn Cabinet. Hoping to defeat a former One Above All champion in his Heathen Combat debut, Studd guarantees a future so bright, he'll need to wear his shades at night.

Panhead Custom Ales World Heavyweight championship

The story of Ryan Zero is one of the perennial underdog, winning over audiences while struggling to win a match that would set him on his path to greatness. That win would come when he won a Battle Royale to become the first Hand Of Fate champion, defending the title against ACJ, Kay E Prince and Rugged Vic Craig. Cashing in the axe for a shot at the One Above All World championship at "Choose Death," Zero failed to win the championship, but instead found his place as a member of the NZ deathmatch scene. Helping form The Gunn Cabinet, Zero twice won the Capital Pro Wrestling Tag Team titles from [REDACTED] and StarrYate1, before defeating Tommy Fusion and Phoenix Tallion for the vacant One Above All at "Melbourne (No Intro)," a thrill that didn't last long as Rugged Vic Craig cashed in and pinned Zero in quick order. Dejected, Zero eventually bounced back with a huge win over James Shaw for the Panhead Custom Ales World Heavyweight championship at Taranaki Beer Festival.

One of the hardest working men in New Zealand wrestling, Bobby Wisheart has been a constant presence on the New Zealand scene since debuting at Hughes Academy of Professional Wrestling. Forming tag team The Flavour alongside DEV K¥R0, Wisheart has appeared all over the country, including recent appearances at Fale Dojo, Impact Pro Wrestling, and Aotearoa Wrestling. Making his Heathen debut at "The Show Is Called It's Called What's It Called," Wisheart teamed with Te Kaha in a losing effort against the unlikely pairing of Spartan and William Cutting in the Tag Team Title Tournament. Unsuccessfully challenging Spartan for the Hughes Academy championship after winning their Rumble, as well as losing to Capital Pro Wrestling Heavyweight champion Tim Warren, Wisheart managed to claim a shot at the Panhead belt by taking advantage of Ryan Zero not paying attention backstage.

As announced last night, we're extremely excited to be working along side Dougfest to present the Dougfest Rumble.

But what is Dougfest?

Dougfest is Kirikiriroa's newest festival started last year by local legend Doug, to win a bet with mates to prove he could pull off a music festival featuring some of the best punk, rock, metal and alternative bands from across the country, spread across two nights over Labour Weekend.

After a hugely successful first event at Hamilton's Last Place, Doug took it to Auckland for Dougfest Junior, before returning to Hamilton for DougSpace Emo Night earlier this year. All three events have sold out and left music fans asking what's next? The answer:

Big Adventure (Tommy Fusion & JT Hollow) vs. Spartan & William Cutting

After [REDACTED] teammate ACJ was unable to make it to Morrinsville last month, William Cutting asked Heathen Combat management to find a new partner for him so he could continue in the Tag Team Championship Tournament. Cutting, a former Professional Wrestling Entertainment, Capital Pro Wrestling and Unified Championship Wrestling champion, was less than impressed when he discovered who his partner would be: Current Hughes Academy of Professional Wrestling and former Impact Pro Wrestling champion Spartan. The two unlikely partners managed to overcome the pairing of Te Kaha and Bobby Wisheart , both tag specialists in their own respect, but not without more than a few disagreements between them, peaking when Spartan hit Cutting with a spear after the match. Considered two of the greatest Maniacs United talent in the promotion's history, best friends JT Hollow and current Hand Of Fate champion Tommy Fusion have become some of the most beloved wrestlers in the country. Both former New Zealand Professional Wrestling champions, the pair have faced a who's who of talent across the country, including both facing off against current One Above All champion Rugged Vic Craig in some extremely brutal matches, before both headed across the Tasman to Deathmatch Downunder. While both have found great success as solo competitors, the duo, collectively known as Big Adventure, recently made it known they're interested in tag gold, defeating Ryan Zero and Matty Short for a chance to face current Legacy Pro Wrestling Tag Team champions, Will Stone and Alex Savage, SAS. Asking Heathen Combat management for a chance to show the Kirikiriroa crowds what the Big Adventure is all about, the friends will prove a tough challenge for their opponents.

When former One Above All champion 'The Smash Hit' Joel Bateman put a future title shot on the line at the Mat Earth event "Trouble In Paradiso," many were surprised when opponent Kid Nova picked up the win. However, those who've followed the career of the Starkiller knew never to bet against the masked member of Nu Blood. As one half of the current Impact Pro Wrestling Aotearoa Tag Team champions, Nova has helped reinvigorate tag team wrestling across the country, stealing the show and defeating the likes of The Young Nats, Deadly Sins, The Gunn Cabinet and Short Tempered, as well as ending the Taniwha Atrocities reign as Maniacs United New Zealand Professional Wrestling tag team champions. Nova also picked up solo wins over Kobe Reid, ACJ and Matty Short while in pursuit of Ray Gunn's Unified Championship Wrestling Light Heavyweight championship, falling short to Gunn in the end, but showing a solo title in his future is inevitable.

Maintaining his grip on the One Above All with a bloody iron fist, Rugged Vic Craig won the belt after outsmarting everyone when he cashed in a title shot on a beaten Ryan Zero at "Melbourne (No Intro)." The Deathmatch Reaper has held championship gold across the country, sitting at the top of the mountain in Maniacs United, Legacy Pro Wrestling and Reaper Pro, as well as challenging for international titles in Deathmatch Downunder and ICW No Holds Barred. As one of the toughest competitors in NZ wrestling, Craig has brought deathmatch wrestling to the forefront, representing the country over WrestleMania weekend this year, while facing the likes of Horus, JT Hollow, Phoenix Tallion and Tommy Fusion back home. Catching the attention of Kerry Tank Diamond, Craig managed to defeat the Original Heathen at our last event "The Show Is Called It's Called What's It Called?" with the help of manager Disasterpiece Cam Corban, ensuring he still sits at the top of Heathen Combat.
