Leez and Nick had a perfectly planned attention to detail wedding. I was so impressed by Leez and her attention to details. My favorite part was when they took pictures with every table, such a sweet touch. And the dancing. Shew. Not only is Nick pretty much known for his dancing there were 3 choreographed dances. They truly incorporated everything they loved into their wedding, from the dancing to Harry Potter to their love of musicals. It was such a pretty day and I’m so thankful I got to be a part of it by filming it. Please enjoy this little taste of their wedding day and be sure to click the link for the full video.

Madelyn’s first birthday. Here is a glimpse of her special day. I wanted to capture the things about her that unfortunately our minds sometimes forget when our babies grow up. Her cute little feet, tiny hands that are still exploring, the gorgeous outfit that will be stashed away for her kids to see one day. Filming these moments are priceless. My photographer warned me about this in the nicest way possible. She said how when taking getting ready shots in a home it’s difficult to get good pictures when everyone stuff is all over the place. So I tried my best to clean the area that would be used the most and then other places in my house I just didn’t care about. Welllllll she ended up having to use other spots for good lighting and I found my self apologizing and embarrassed for my mess. Do you your self a favor and declutter your space and deep clean. Hire someone if you can to take that load off of you. That way you mentally feel better and it makes for better photos and videos if you are getting ready at home. Also, when you get home from the wedding, it’s one less thing to think about and just enjoy being a couple.

Another “what I wish I did” wedding tip. Spend a little extra money on something cute to get ready in. Remember you are going to be getting pictures and hopefully being recorded alllll day long. Wear something cute and comfortable.

Plan what images are important for you to have. Typically photographers do this for you. But make sure you take initiative of what pictures you want. I would suggest making a list of images you want (family members, details, etc.) and create a Pinterest board of poses and pictures you like.

You knew it was coming. But really, hiring a videographer was the best investment for my wedding. You put your favorite pictures on the wall and then you watch your video to relive all the special moments of your day. Way better than a wedding book, but of course those are special to have too. But there is nothing like seeing moments that a picture might not be able to get.

You might be screaming DUH! At this wedding tip but, this is another one from personal experience. There were a hand full of vendors I waited till the last second to pay. Don’t be like me. Give your brain more space and pay them in advance and not have that in the back of your mind.

Every Wednesday I’ll be sharing a wedding tip from my personal experience of wedding planning, my wedding, or what I have seen from weddings I’ve filmed. This one was from personal experience. We were having a great time, there was about a hour and a half left of the night and my dad comes up to me and says “who is going to clean all this up?”. I didn’t know how to answer him. Awful predicament to be in wanting to soak in the last few moments of your day but then you gotta think of how it’s going to be cleaned up. Fortunately, a lot of venues provide a clean up crew for you. But think about that a head of time so you don’t have to the day of your wedding.

Bonus points if you plan a private dance at the end of your wedding. That is where everyone leaves the room and it is just you and the love of your life. I’ve seen that twice and it is magical.

Every Wednesday I’ll be sharing a wedding tip from my personal experience of wedding planning, my wedding, or what I have seen from weddings I’ve filmed. This first one was from personal experience of finishing writing my vows, making bridal party presents, and putting together the music for my father daughter dance the night before my wedding. Not a smart move. I did those things more out of stress than peace. Set a goal to get everything done two days before your wedding so you aren’t like me staying up late to get things done.
