Madelyn’s first birthday. Here is a glimpse of her special day. I wanted to capture the things about her that unfortunately our minds sometimes forget when our babies grow up. Her cute little feet, tiny hands that are still exploring, the gorgeous outfit that will be stashed away for her kids to see one day. Filming these moments are priceless. My photographer warned me about this in the nicest way possible. She said how when taking getting ready shots in a home it’s difficult to get good pictures when everyone stuff is all over the place. So I tried my best to clean the area that would be used the most and then other places in my house I just didn’t care about. Welllllll she ended up having to use other spots for good lighting and I found my self apologizing and embarrassed for my mess. Do you your self a favor and declutter your space and deep clean. Hire someone if you can to take that load off of you. That way you mentally feel better and it makes for better photos and videos if you are getting ready at home. Also, when you get home from the wedding, it’s one less thing to think about and just enjoy being a couple.

Another “what I wish I did” wedding tip. Spend a little extra money on something cute to get ready in. Remember you are going to be getting pictures and hopefully being recorded alllll day long. Wear something cute and comfortable.

Plan what images are important for you to have. Typically photographers do this for you. But make sure you take initiative of what pictures you want. I would suggest making a list of images you want (family members, details, etc.) and create a Pinterest board of poses and pictures you like.

You knew it was coming. But really, hiring a videographer was the best investment for my wedding. You put your favorite pictures on the wall and then you watch your video to relive all the special moments of your day. Way better than a wedding book, but of course those are special to have too. But there is nothing like seeing moments that a picture might not be able to get.

You might be screaming DUH! At this wedding tip but, this is another one from personal experience. There were a hand full of vendors I waited till the last second to pay. Don’t be like me. Give your brain more space and pay them in advance and not have that in the back of your mind.

Every Wednesday I’ll be sharing a wedding tip from my personal experience of wedding planning, my wedding, or what I have seen from weddings I’ve filmed. This one was from personal experience. We were having a great time, there was about a hour and a half left of the night and my dad comes up to me and says “who is going to clean all this up?”. I didn’t know how to answer him. Awful predicament to be in wanting to soak in the last few moments of your day but then you gotta think of how it’s going to be cleaned up. Fortunately, a lot of venues provide a clean up crew for you. But think about that a head of time so you don’t have to the day of your wedding.

Bonus points if you plan a private dance at the end of your wedding. That is where everyone leaves the room and it is just you and the love of your life. I’ve seen that twice and it is magical.

Every Wednesday I’ll be sharing a wedding tip from my personal experience of wedding planning, my wedding, or what I have seen from weddings I’ve filmed. This first one was from personal experience of finishing writing my vows, making bridal party presents, and putting together the music for my father daughter dance the night before my wedding. Not a smart move. I did those things more out of stress than peace. Set a goal to get everything done two days before your wedding so you aren’t like me staying up late to get things done.

Alyssa and Howie celebrated their one month anniversary last week! Here is a glimpse of their stunning Great Gatsby wedding day. They are simply the sweetest people individually and together I know they are going make the world even better. I heard Howie on multiple occasions complimenting the people around him throughout the day. Alyssa was the absolute sweetest to work with, from her initial comments of "do whatever you want I love your stuff", to her sweet comments of how much she loved the completed video.

One memorable moment is when the officiant announced you may now kiss your bride, Alyssa said in the cutest voice "finally". Click the link in the comments to hear that moment and to see their full wedding video.

Alannah and Austin had a chill, lovely, perfect weather, beach wedding. I could have honestly made a whole video of just their dog Turkey, but this awesome couple had some amazing moments that did in fact outshined their awesome dog. First, Alannah and Austin win the award of the longest first kiss I have ever seen, I of course had to include all of it. After the ceremony they had an accidental processional of all of their guest walking by, giving hugs and congratulations. Now I think every wedding should have that, it was such a sweet moment and gave the couple a chance to see everyone. Their private last dance was also something I think every wedding should have. It was moment for just the two of them, I tried my best to be a fly on the wall and not mess up their special moment. They are high school sweethearts who have grown up together and have gone through big life milestones together. This wedding was just another beautiful milestone in their story together. A glimpse of a love story between the sweetest girl and silliest guy, one of the cutest couples. I love how Zack becomes mush when he is around CiCi. The way he complemented her beautiful dress and how beautiful she looked in it was the sweetest. CiCi is such a sweetheart. Not only was she amazing to work with, but everyone she was in contact with during her day she was so welcoming, sweet, and calm. These two have been guests for two of the weddings I have filmed and it was finally their day, and as I told CiCi, Zack's moment to finally be the center of attention with the camera. CiCi and Zack, thank you so much for letting me capture your day, your wedding was beautiful!

My brother and sister in laws wedding present!! It was extra special to film their day. Tyler Spiker and Becca Spiker have the sweetest family and friends. Everyone there are huge fans of both of them and everyone was so excited for them to get married.

And Tyler Spiker is secretly a model, I will forever brag about how he nailed all the instructions given by the photographer, sorry guys but most of you fumble through it, no offense, Tyler needs to give lessons.

Another beautiful wedding I had the absolute privilege of being able to capture. Maddie Saathoff and Tim had a beautiful ceremony and reception on her families property. My favorite moments were when they played Tim's dad's song during the reception, Maddie being absolutely stunning in every shot (like did you practice in the mirror Maddie because you were a professional), and I got to witness my first groomsmen flower entrance. The whole day was peaceful, you could tell their decision to marry each other was as simple as breathing. Maddie and Tim, I hope you have an amazing holiday season together as husband and wife!

Clara and Shane have a story book high school sweetheart story. Their wedding was such a perfect celebration of their beautiful love story. Their ceremony took place at their stunning home surrounded by their family and friends. My favorite moment of their wedding is when their entire wedding party gave Clara and Shane a hug and a congrats after their ceremony. It was such a pure and sweet moment. Their friendship with each of them was so genuine. The way Clara's dress shimmered on the dance floor was another top moment. Check out their full ceremony and reception video to witness that.
