Well, it's official, and this is the official announcement!

The crew of The Groove Zone (Olympia WA) are anxious but sad to announce that the 33 year-long project is coming to a close!
Since it was created in the last days of 1989, The Groove Zone has existed in one form or another up until now.
33 years of events, nightclub dates, special productions and presentations, concerts, and finally becoming a viable online presence in the past few years, all comes to an end as of August 2022.
Every dream that could have been dreamed has come true. A bucket list of wishes to meet and talk with recording artists has been filled to overflowing. From merely being a part of local underground radio (Free Radio Olympia 91.9 FM) to running our own radio station (Neo RetroFM (Oly WA)), we have had a very successful and full run as a presence in the long-running Olympia music scene for over three decades!
The times have changed, and the world has too. We are leaving a permanent mark, not only in the history of the Olympia music scene, but in cyberspace as well. Long after the dust settles in places it hasn't yet landed, our friends, fans, followers and newcomers will be able to see/hear/experience what The Groove Zone has been all about, and what we've accomplished in the years that have come and gone.
There are vague but tentative plans for random specials in the future, but no dates or details are currently available.
In the coming two months, you can expect to see the remainder of our past shows being available for your entertainment online.
The two cornerstone shows we've offered continuously are "The Sessions w/ DJ D-Phoenix" and "Hook, Line & Thinker: A Podcast".
The Sessions most likely will become a special quarterly edition, airing just 4 times a year on our various sites.
Hook, Line & Thinker, the podcast created by Australian recording artist DUB FX and our resident DJ D-Phoenix is in the final stages of production, and will be wrapping the show this coming week.
The panelists are all committing themselves to their final appearances on the show, and we are taping the last of our segments this coming week.
As a special treat for our audience, the final airings of HLT will be announced in the next week. To bring the podcast to a close, our HLT finale will feature MOUNTAIN HEAD's Ben & Kyle Hannah of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; also on the last episode, fans will get a chance to say goodbye to the show's great regular and semi-regular panelists, including Cousin Robin, Doug Next Door, "Oz" (former paranormal investigator), SFC Diggler, Sponge aka Chocolate Thunder, Seattle's DJ Duckie, and the rest of the gang!
So, we want to thank each of our friends, fans, and followers for your continued support through the years!
