Born in Rusape in the Makoni District, HM Mambokadzi Aluko is from the family of Muswati, the brother of Chief Chingaira, who fought in the First Chimurenga, also known as the Second Matabele War, 1896 – 1897. He was captured and beheaded by the British government backed British South Africa Company who appropriated his head and brought it, along with the physical remains of Mbuya Nehanda Charwe Nyakasikana, Sekuru Kaguvi, and others from the war to Britain as trophies, where they are still held today.
Mambokadzi Aluko has lived in both Ireland and Northern Ireland for 40 years; she is the first Black woman to advocate about racism and established the first African organizational movement; she is also the first Black woman to own hairdressing salons in Belfast, servicing both Black and White patrons, and so paved a way for Black entrepreneurship in the burgeoning multicultural society of the time.
Mambokadzi Aluko is joined by Kesheniwa Aghaji, award-winning actress for her role as Ntsiki Biko in Cry Freedom and visual artist of the African sacred art tradition. Kesheniwa will produce in situ a spontaneous drawing on the theme of the night.

The First Woman-King’s Dinner to Be Held in Dublin!

For the first time, Her Majesty Mambokadzi (Woman-King) Aluko, is holding a buffet dinner to focus on the unity of women and the fundamental effects that collectively they bring to the new Aquarian age.
HM Mambokadzi ‘Mama Africa’ is the Woman-King of the Munhumutapa Empire Zimbabwe, and Paramount Chief of the Bakholokoe Kingdom South Africa. In many African nations such as Dahomey in ‘The Woman King’ the film, a woman has absolute sovereignty equal to that of the rulership of a king. The title ‘queen’ is given by the king and royal court to his spouse, and women of valour and outstanding achievement; and she is not a ruler in her own right. The Woman-King on the other hand has a bloodline governance that is chosen by nature. She is instructed from birth to bring stability to the people, the land, and environment; and as such, her position is founded in the Spiritual realm and actioned in the physical world.
