Congratulations to Jigme Pelden Dorje on summiting Mt. Everest.
May 20, 2024, Everest Summit:
The 'Pioneer Adventure' has announced that Royal Bhutan Army Lieutenant Jigme Pelden Dorje has made history by becoming the first Bhutanese to summit Mt. Everest at 9:30 am today, accompanied by guide Chakra Rai and the support team.
Jigme’s journey began on May 16 from Everest Base Camp, marking a milestone not only for him but also for Bhutan.
Pasang Sherpa, Chairman of Pioneer Adventure Pvt Ltd, expressed his pride, saying, "We are delighted to have been part of Jigme’s historic climb. Our guides are committed to ensuring the success and safety of every climber. Congratulations to Jigme for this extraordinary achievement."
Jigme shared his excitement and patriotism, stating, "Standing on the top of Everest fills me with immense pride as a Bhutanese. This climb is a tribute to my country, our monarch, and our enduring spirit of exploration."
