It’s rainy today here in WA and it’s got me thinking about rain and what it means in the wedding industry. They say rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck, a symbol of blessings and new beginnings. While many couples dream of a picture-perfect sunny celebration, the reality is that weather can be unpredictable, just like life itself.

Growing up, I often heard stories about how rain brings fertility and prosperity. The droplets that fall from the sky are believed to wash away any negativity, making way for a fresh start. It’s a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, beauty can emerge.

As you plan your special day, try to find comfort in this superstition. Instead of worrying about the forecast, choose to embrace the idea that rain is a part of nature’s own celebration. Just like love, it can be messy and unpredictable, but it’s also nourishing and vital.

Imagine dancing in the rain, surrounded by loved ones, laughter echoing as the drops create a magical ambiance. It’s a moment that would be forever etched in your memories—one that signifies resilience and joy.

When Morgan and I were designing her wedding, she kept saying to me, “I want disco balls and boho florals, I just don’t know how to bring it together!” And had she chosen a different planner, maybe it wouldn’t have worked out. But she chose someone with ✨VISION✨

As an experienced wedding planner and designer, it is MY job to bring the vision to life, even if my client can’t quite see it clearly. I knew immediately that we would bring in texture with neutral runners, start strong with a clean white linen, add black and gold touches and candles to bring everything up to a romantic level.

So this is your sign, even if you don’t see your exact vision on Pinterest or Tik Tok or Instagram, don’t feel dejected. Your wedding day should be and CAN be a direct reflection of your own personal style, you just need a pro to help sometimes!

You wouldn’t know it from these photos but the DJ at Dani & Yosh’s wedding ended up being terrible. He was late, unprepared, inexperienced and got so overwhelmed that he LEFT as the reception started, leaving his equipment for us to use until he returned to get it at the end of the night. I played the ceremony music on a Bluetooth speaker from my Apple watch while I cued the procession. And because I’m a pro and calm in chaos, we all had an amazing time anyway!

Our very FIRST Indian wedding was such an amazing and thoughtful experience! We are so lucky to have clients who are not only willing to trust us with the design details of their day but also include and educate us on traditions so that we don't feel left out.

Arti & Kiran's wedding was filled with traditional moments but they also were not afraid to let a little of their own style show through.

This has been a dream of mine for YEARS! I have always told myself i would wait for more free time, wait for more start up money, wait for the RIGHT time and then I got SICK of waiting! So here I am, pursuing my dream of becoming an event planner. The whole dream is to one day own a chain of wedding venues in several different states, but right now I’m just taking a small step in the right direction, towards my goals and away from my fears. I have to admit that this is a little nerve-racking but I’m mainly just excited to see what the future holds for my business, my family and my personal growth.

I have been in the wedding circuit for about 5 years now, doing hair, makeup and even helping plan and coordinate a few weddings. I planned my entire wedding on my own as well! Working in the industry, I learned a LOT of things I could never have learned by just sitting in a classroom or at a computer screen. I also made a ton of great connections with venues, vendors and clients, that I now consider to be my friends.

I also have experience planning corporate events! I worked at Walmart as a Personnel Coordinator and event planning/associate engagement was my main job! I organized holiday celebrations, trainings, orientations, meetings and much more! I learned how to be FUN but also professional. I learned to always have a back up plan in place and never let them see you sweat! It was a really great experience, that taught me a LOT!

I am looking forward to growing my business, meeting new vendors, cultivating new relationships with clients and touring new venues! I hope that you keep “MASTERED MOMENTS by Maliah” in mind when planning your next wedding, baby shower, birthday party, corporate event or any of the other important moments in your life!
