Today is day 100 since my dear friend received her stem cell transplant. On day 11, I was able to visit her to document her journey. We put on her stem cell transplant playlist as Courtney and her husband, Guy, shared some laughs, then some tears, then they filled their hearts looking at pictures of their baby Bear that she was unable to see during her recovery in the hospital.

Oh, the power of freezing time through photography. Looking back, it still brings tears to my eyes. She texted me today and said "I can't believe I made it this far." Of course you made it Courtney, of course you did.

Being able to photograph my cousins tea ceremony the day of his wedding is for sure a highlight of my year. I wasn't sure what to expect, I was just told there were games involved and he would have to work hard to get the bridesmaids approval before he was allowed into the house.

So after my cousin and his 6 groomsmen (also my cousins and brother in-law) imitated a K-Pop dance, tied their ankles together to shimmy their way to his 3 dogs, brought offerings including an entire pig, pastries and red envelopes to his wife's family, finally the bridesmaids approved, and allowed him in to begin the tea ceremony.

This is just a sneak peak for these West Park seniors! I have sooooo many more photos to edit for them.

Miss Kailei, such a sweet, sweet soul with such a bright future ahead! Just a few days after her photo shoot, she headed to Mexicali with her church impact group for a life changing mission trip- serving and connecting with kids in underserved communities.

She's headed to Grand Canyon University this fall and will be walking the graduation stage with a medal in Biomed and so many cords, you'll need two hands to count them! Her mom is beyond proud- and I hope she is too!

Episode One of Christian & Mindy's engagement photo shoot! We had so much fun as I photographed them eating ramen 🍜like Lady the & Tramp, as I disappeared in the bushes (photographers, 📸you know), as a random guy climbed the tree behind them picking and eating oranges, 🍊bringing a citrus aroma to their photo shoot. And we'll never forget the laughter as Christian read Mindy's book 📖to us and we discovered the words that lie in between the pages. These kids showed up and shined for their prom pictures on Saturday. I am grateful for having just recently watched their performance of "Urine Town" because it still heavily lives with them as they continued to act out scenes while taking their pictures. Jenna recently graduated from Antelope High School with a Cord for visual arts. Last year I photographed her sisters senior portraits and this year it was Jenna’s turn. We recently celebrated my cousin's daughter's Sweet 16th Birthday with the cutest Alice in Wonderland theme! As you can tell, she is all smiles with her boyfriend around so of course we brought him to the photo shoot. I could do an entire album with just these ear to ear smiles that he brings out of her.

Just a few years ago, this sweet girl assisted in one of my school projects where she shared about coping with anxiety and how much dance helped her with that. Whether it's singing, dancing or acting, she has blossomed into a beautiful and brave performing artist. I am continuously impressed with her vulnerability and growth into becoming a young woman.

I hope she will reflect back on these portraits and this moment in her life of pure bliss. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to document Sophia's smile that is lighting up the world.
