Foliage of the Month
August 2024: 🪴Monstera🪴
Everyone's favourite house plant, the mighty Monstera, also known as the swiss cheese plant or the fruit salad plant. With spring on the horizon there are a variety of flowers already starting to bloom, making it hard for me to decide which one to highlight this month so why not focus on a brilliant foliage that is lush, bold and can frame all the wonderful spring flowers in a bouquet.
Monstera is a sign of growth, abundance and prosperity which i think is fitting for this time of year.

Now offering vase arrangements in order to reduce the amount of cellophane wrap I use as well as giving flowers in a vase that is a gift in itself and also expanding/challenging my style 💕 Vases are collected from various opshops and are of all shapes and sizes which makes for a special and unique gift 💐

July 2024: ☘️Hellebore☘️
Hellebores are quite possibly one of my favourite flowers, I've always loved how they grow so well in the shade during the middle of Winter and also how they have a whimsical and witchy quality to them.
Hellebores are a symbol of protection and mental healing. Perhaps they choose to grow during the middle of Winter when we may need a pick-me-up the most, to show us how we can also grow through the shade and the cold and still be uniquely beautiful.

I had the honor of creating my first double-ended spray arrangement over the weekend. 🌿
Thank you to the family for entrusting me with this special task. I hope that this arrangement was able to contribute to a beautiful and fitting farewell for your loved one. 🕊️

Flower of the Month
June 2024: 🌸Daphne🌸
A delightful Winter favourite! Daphne is a highly fragrant flower which I'm sure most noses have been blessed by, they are often grown by doors and pathways so you will be greeted by the scent whenever you walk by or when there is a gentle breeze.
Daphne symbolizes: Honesty, joy, love, sweetness and wishes for a happy newborn.
I think gifting a Daphne plant to new or expecting parents would have a special significance and create lasting memories, as both the plant and the family grow and bloom with each passing season.

Flower of the month (more like tree of the month)
May 2024: 🍒Hawthorn🍒
Firstly, yes, Hawthorn is a w**d in New Zealand and I'm not trying to promote the spread of them, however I'm still going to admire them and use them in my arrangements because I like to forage and be creative with what I can find and Hawthorn berries make a nice addition to Autumn bouquets especially with the lichen covered branches.

Hawthorn is also one of the birth flowers of May and they always make me think of my grandad, brother and best friend who are all born in May, 3 people who I love dearly.

Hawthorn symbolizes: balance, hope, purification and protection of the heart. (Extra slice of symbolism: An abundance of lichen shows interconnectedness of all living beings.)

Hawthorn berries work really nicely in Autumn wedding arrangements, adding a hint of colour and texture, as well as what they may represent for a newlywed couple.

I could go on about these beautiful, whimsical fairy trees endlessly, but instead I'll share some past arrangements I've used the berries in.

April 2024: 💜Lavender💜
I think most people know of the vast healing properties Lavender has. It's brilliant for relaxation and sleep, the gentle pastel tones of purple flowers and sage green foliage, the tender fragrance (although not for everyone) and even the way the bees bumble from one flower to the next, this plant is peaceful.
Lavender symbolizes: calmness, serenity, purity, grace and silence.
Lavender may be a thoughtful gift for yourself or someone you love who might need a moment to feel calm and de-stress.

Finally, we are done with the finishing touches on our community painting from our Multiple Myeloma Fundraiser Picnic 🎨 Huge thank you to all who contributed to it, it turned out beautifully ❤️ It will be donated and sent to Ranui House in the coming weeks.
The question now is, what are we going to name this masterpiece?

March 2024: 🌼Michaelmas Daisy🌼
The Michaelmas Daisy is a wonderful perennial filler flower, they are often pastel tones of purple, pink and blue which is a treat amongst the changing colours of the Autumn season.
Michaelmas Daisies symbolize: Patience, love, farewell and cheerfulness in growing older, I think they are such a sweet little flower, perfect for any occasion.

February 2024: ❄️Echinops❄️
This striking and prickly flower makes a beautiful blue and unique addition to both fresh and dried arrangements, they are hardy in the garden, plus the bumblebees love them.
Echinops symbolize: Pride, protection, independence and nobility. Potentially a meaningful gift for when the kids leave the nest or for general farewell wishes.

January 2024: 🌺Fuchsia🌺
Starting off with the flower I named my business after, the stunning and intricate Fuchsia flower. Although I wish they lasted in a vase, unfortunately they stay for maybe a day or two, however they do press fairly nicely making a fun addition to my handmade cards.
Fuchsia flowers symbolize: Confiding love, trust, elegance, amiability and confidence, all attributes I hope to achieve in this little business of mine.
