A colour, an object, a style, a theme, a vibe, flowers, embroidery, knitting etc.
Let your imagination run wild 🌈
All suggestions will go into my tangerine beret and one will be drawn on the 13th of each month 🍊🧡

Flower of the Month
December 2024: 🫧 Hydrangea🫧
Hydrangeas are one of the Summer highlights for me being such a bold and structured flower with large pops of blue, purple, pink, white and green that just seem to suddenly appear all around the garden.
They also represent the celebration of the 4th anniversary for friendship, partnership and marriage.
Symbolizing perseverance, understanding, interconnectedness, wholeness and growth, Hydrangeas are a wonderful symbol to mark the new year with, either for yourself or as a gift to others

Flower of the Month
November 2024: 💮Achillea💮
Commonly known as Yarrow, Achillea is a widespread wildflower and herb often found growing along roadsides, riverbeds and little country lanes, usually in soft shades of white, pink or purple but they do come in more vibrant colours like yellow, orange and hot pink.
I love that this plant keeps producing flowers all Summer and well into Autumn, for me this flower reminds me of late Summer walks around the farm when the sun is setting and the crickets are chirping, such a peaceful time.
Achillea is a symbol of healing, friendship, elegance and relaxation, perhaps a reminder as we move into the busy holiday season to take your time, stay safe, keep healthy and enjoy the moments with those around you.

Flower of the Month
October 2024: 🤍 Dutch Iris (specifically the white ones) 🤍
Irises are one the birth flowers for those born in February and as a February baby I really adore them.
Commonly popular for their striking purple/blue colour which is brilliant for making bold arrangements, however today I wanted to highlight how delicate and simplistic the white ones are, I remember the first time they bloomed in our garden and I was amazed because I'd never seen them before, they quickly became my favourite.
White Dutch Irises symbolize purity and innocence, they were traditionally used in wedding arrangements and I think they would be nice to give in a newborn bouquet as well as sympathy arrangements.
Purple/blue Irises often represent wisdom, royalty and faith and are wonderful for all occasions
And yellow Irises show passion and hope which is also nice for all occasions especially for brightening someone's day.

September 2024: ✨ Freesia ✨
Freesias are possibly my favourite scented flowers on earth, they have such a sweet, honey-like perfume, for me it is like warmth from the sun.
They are the flower that represents the 7th anniversary in friendship, partnership or marriage. This was a nice fact to come across as I am approaching my 7th year with both my partner and my best friend.
Freesias are a symbol of friendship, trust, optimism and thoughtfulness. They are a perfect gift for a friend.

Foliage of the Month
August 2024: 🪴Monstera🪴
Everyone's favourite house plant, the mighty Monstera, also known as the swiss cheese plant or the fruit salad plant. With spring on the horizon there are a variety of flowers already starting to bloom, making it hard for me to decide which one to highlight this month so why not focus on a brilliant foliage that is lush, bold and can frame all the wonderful spring flowers in a bouquet.
Monstera is a sign of growth, abundance and prosperity which i think is fitting for this time of year.

Now offering vase arrangements in order to reduce the amount of cellophane wrap I use as well as giving flowers in a vase that is a gift in itself and also expanding/challenging my style 💕 Vases are collected from various opshops and are of all shapes and sizes which makes for a special and unique gift 💐

July 2024: ☘️Hellebore☘️
Hellebores are quite possibly one of my favourite flowers, I've always loved how they grow so well in the shade during the middle of Winter and also how they have a whimsical and witchy quality to them.
Hellebores are a symbol of protection and mental healing. Perhaps they choose to grow during the middle of Winter when we may need a pick-me-up the most, to show us how we can also grow through the shade and the cold and still be uniquely beautiful.

I had the honor of creating my first double-ended spray arrangement over the weekend. 🌿
Thank you to the family for entrusting me with this special task. I hope that this arrangement was able to contribute to a beautiful and fitting farewell for your loved one. 🕊️

June 2024: 🌸Daphne🌸
A delightful Winter favourite! Daphne is a highly fragrant flower which I'm sure most noses have been blessed by, they are often grown by doors and pathways so you will be greeted by the scent whenever you walk by or when there is a gentle breeze.
Daphne symbolizes: Honesty, joy, love, sweetness and wishes for a happy newborn.
I think gifting a Daphne plant to new or expecting parents would have a special significance and create lasting memories, as both the plant and the family grow and bloom with each passing season.

Flower of the month (more like tree of the month)
May 2024: 🍒Hawthorn🍒
Firstly, yes, Hawthorn is a w**d in New Zealand and I'm not trying to promote the spread of them, however I'm still going to admire them and use them in my arrangements because I like to forage and be creative with what I can find and Hawthorn berries make a nice addition to Autumn bouquets especially with the lichen covered branches.

Hawthorn is also one of the birth flowers of May and they always make me think of my grandad, brother and best friend who are all born in May, 3 people who I love dearly.

Hawthorn symbolizes: balance, hope, purification and protection of the heart. (Extra slice of symbolism: An abundance of lichen shows interconnectedness of all living beings.)

Hawthorn berries work really nicely in Autumn wedding arrangements, adding a hint of colour and texture, as well as what they may represent for a newlywed couple.

I could go on about these beautiful, whimsical fairy trees endlessly, but instead I'll share some past arrangements I've used the berries in.
