You'll see vendors and artists acceptance go out TONIGHT.

Room parties and staff applications SUNDAY.

Booking link will be live AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT!! I'm working with the hotel to simply transfer the bookings I already have from attendees over. Everyone who already booked a hotel in advance and paid will be getting a free upgrade as well!!

Sorry things are taking longer than anticipated. It's been a lot of back and forth with the hotel to get on the same page BUT BOY AM I EXCITED TO KEEP ON TRUCKING.

You will notice tickets and rooms are not on sale currently on our website.

We will have to postpone selling more as we have extremely low numbers this year and need to pivot the direction of the event due to costs being much higher than what we are taking in.

We don't feel right continuing taking money as the event is in flux. You will be updated as soon as we come to a conclusion and a solution.

Why the name change? (FB name change pending)

Ahegao has some negative connotations that come along with it that we were unaware of when it was first chosen. We were educated with articles more towards the end of last year and really wanted to look into a new name. With deposits paid and merch ordered changes couldn't be made until this year.

While we are 21+ we are more focused on a good time for everyone 21+ and Ahegao being the name made everything more sexually charged then we had first envisioned. It was named Ahegao back when ahegao print was first banned at other conventions. It was more intended as a protest of "you can wear it here". This was a very intimate event with mostly friends and friends of friends max back then who were aware of the environment we wanted. We definitely did not ancipate it's growth and have been blown away by the interest and support. We are still 21+ and happy to be an adult con but we really want a vibe leaning towards "safe place for adult weebs to be adult weebs" as opposed to "P**n Con". With a name like Ahegao it was also hard to get sponsors and other cons that were willing to partner or associate with us.

This new name Akeome(ah-kay-oh-may) means Happy New Year! We are so excited to be the last con of the year for our attendees!

This event went from 75 attendees to 600 in 2 years with just one person running everything with a small team of volunteers. We are always learning and are very excited to be getting help and expanding our team to improve and put on an amazing con by the 21+ weebs, for the 21+ weebs.
