Since it’s engagement season we’ve been receiving an influx of inquiries from couples wanting to book our venue. So many of you are telling us that we are your dream venue and we honestly can’t tell you enough just how amazing that is to hear. When we started designing the venue that’s exactly what we aimed for, the perfect space to celebrate love.
Sadly, there has been no change to our event permitting and we still cannot book any weddings. However, our bridal suite is available to rent for getting ready and portraits can be taken on the property. Message us if you’d like more info on that.
Thanks again for all the support over the years, we are still crossing our fingers that one day soon we’ll see couples tying the knot here again!

For those of you following our story I wanted to post an update here since I’m continuously receiving emails and messages asking when we can host weddings again. I still don’t have an answer to that question and everytime I have to see another email from a bride saying this is her dream venue it breaks my heart a little more each time to say no.
After over 2 years of zoom meetings our municipality finally held an in person council hearing to hear input on the new Official Community Plan. This new plan is incredibly restrictive to businesses and properties and will make operating in North Cowichan even more challenging. I finally had the opportunity to stand up in front of the council members who shut down our business and tell them how I feel as well as brought up important issues as to why this OCP needs to be stalled and further reviewed. Some of them couldn’t even be bothered to acknowledge me while I was speaking which I think says a lot to what type of Councillor they are.
Regardless of where you live in the province please keep up to date with who is running for council and mayor in your local area and get out and vote on October 15th. You may not think that local politics pertains to you and neither did I, but here I am years later and these 7 people controlled the fate of our business. The only way to make a change is to get involved.

This past weekend was the last wedding we'll be able to have at our venue. It was an amazing and emotional day but we couldn't have asked for a better wedding to end everything with. After two postponements they finally were able to have the wedding they dreamed of!! Congrats Christoph and Adrienne!

Hi everyone, just a gentle reminder that we are no longer able to take wedding bookings after October 31st this year. My inbox is being flooded with couples requesting an exception and there are no exceptions, we can no longer book anyone. As much as I would love to accept bookings for next year and beyond, unfortunately it’s just not possible due to permit issues with our local municipality. I wish you all the best on your venue hunt!

With the reopening announcement we are so excited that the very limited amount of weddings we can host this summer at Oak & Vine Estate can go forward!! We have had 2 spots open up for new wedding bookings so if you’d like to get married at Oak & Vine this summer or Fall here is your chance!
