I love welcoming another new exciting season with my Delray Dunes Garden Club friends. So much fun catching up with everyone and thanks to Chris Nelson our presenter for such an informative and interesting lecture on orchids. I hope this inspires other gentlemen in the Dunes to come out and join us.

It’s always such a pleasure for me to create arrangements for people I admire, teachers ranking up there at the top! As much as I loved having my son at home for the summer, keeping him still for 20 minutes to learn something was like herding a million ants! I can’t imagine doing that with 10, 20 kids at once! In our house, we revere our teachers, they are our role models and our heroes. He loves taking flowers to his teacher every week. I’m also instilling in him how he should treat the future women in his life! He sees first hand how a small act of kindness brings such sunshine to their lives. A friend once told me, if the thought to do something kind for someone crosses your mind, do it. Chances are they need it.

I created Petals by Joy as a way to follow my passion and to surround myself in beautiful flowers every day. What started out as a hobby where I made arrangements for friends and family quickly turned into a boutique business that I am incredibly proud of. I am always looking to discover new flora and fauna, which fortunately is an endless process. No two petals are alike and the possibilities are endless. Aside from hearing my son’s laughter, there is no better feeling than bringing happiness to someone with something I created.
