Well, it’s been almost 6 months since the Musical Play Room moved to its new home and I’m embarrassed to tell ya’ll that I STILL haven’t found the cables to my keyboards. Finally just gave up and ordered replacements. You know what will happen. I’ll find them the day after the new ones are delivered.

As many of you know, Jilly W***y bought a house and moved to a whole other state! Moving long distance has been a huge undertaking and the Jilly W***y’s Musical Play Room is the last space in the house to get all put together. It’s a great space but I have been lacking inspiration for how I want it to look. TONIGHT, on my birthday (it’s a fabulous day to be 51!) I FOUND MY INSPIRATION! It will take me at least a week to get it implemented and tweaked, but in the meantime enjoy this sneak peek of pieces in the design . Had some work done on a few of my beautiful ukulele babies and they look and sound amazing. Rumor has it there may be two very beautiful vintage ones in the Play Room by the end of the year as well! Stay tuned as It’s under construction and I’ll be back VERY SOON !!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Relax, I’m kidding. I mean, that really is my Victrola,but I have “modern” vinyl too. Funnier still, this actually is the newest turntable I own though. 🤣. I’ll remedy that soon.

Wow! 11 out of morethanelevenandimnotgoingtoadmittohowmanymorebutitisafewmore ukuleles unpacked, found to be in perfect condition and still in near perfect tune! Amazing after being boxed up and loaded onto a semi and driven 250+ miles and unloaded and sat in the new space for a couple of weeks. Found amps. Found a looper. Found mics. Found headphones. Can’t find any cables. 😱😭🤬

Found some of the gear for Jilly W***y’s Musical Play Room. Now, who do I know that is a whiz at setup? As, y’all know, I’ve seen most of KC’s local bands and hands down, The Stolen Winnebagos tear down faster than any band I’ve ever seen. I’d like to see what they could do with this space.

The Play Room received a very special gift from a childhood friend and classmate, Bryant Black. This new Lady is named “Tina” and she is a Vintage Baritone Aria; made in Japan! She’s pretty dry and dirty and I can’t wait to take her apart and restore her! Even in its present condition, it still tuned to perfection in a matter of seconds and the resonance is outstanding! Many thanks to Bryant for this gift, I will treasure her forever!

This weekend I spent several hours wrapping cables and adapters etc and packing them up. I had a little epiphany. All of my musician friends that do this regularly are certifiably insane. Mad respect though. There isn’t enough money to make me want to do THAT several times a week. Ya’ll are ridiculously underpaid. I already knew this , but DOING it makes me realize I MUST remember to throw money in that tip jar every time I see bands perform.

Ok, I already own one POS keyboard and one actual piano so I don’t need this but I DO need one of ya’ll to build me a cabinet like this to drop my existing (and eventual better) keyboard into!
