Huge congratulations to these two for managing to tie the knot - at the last minute! It might not have been the big wedding celebration that was planned, but the right time will come.
It was such a pleasure to make this dress. The brief was easy summer casual elegance with a hint of luxury, and NOT WHITE.
We started with a favourite old dress, made some design tweaks and chose a beautiful soft, floppy, sandwashed silk. Sheeny but not shiny, the fabric is absolutely dreamy, and we made the most of it with as many pleats in the skirt as we could possibly squeeze in! (Connie took on the many meters of hemming herself!)
Not only does this dress have future wearability as THE best party dress, but legitimately gets to come out again as a wedding dress next year for the big-day.2! ###
