🌿 B R I E W R E A T H S (BWEATHS!) 🌿

I have some limited availability for a few Brie wreaths between now and Christmas (my last day for delivery will be the morning of 23rd).

A real show stopper - One kilo of French Brie decorated with charcuterie, antipasti, olives, fruits and nuts, served with delicious Millers Toasts and chutney. Delivered styled and ready to serve on a board. £60, plus delivery charges.

These make a great centrepiece to feed a small crowd over the festive period 🎄🧀🍷 Perfect for office parties, gatherings at home, nights in with the girls, or to devour with family - get in touch via DM if you’d like to place an order. Best consumed within 24 hours of delivery.

With apples in abundance at the moment, I thought I’d share the recipe for this delicious soft, sweet apple cake with a crunchy cinnamon crumble. Such an autumnal comfort food, perfect as a dessert with cream (or custard for pure indulgence), but equally delicious as a slice with a cuppa on a drizzly afternoon!

Apple & Cinnamon Crumble Cake

Cake
120 ml vegetable oil
120 ml Greek yogurt
1 cup (approx 1 large) Bramley apple, peeled and chopped into slices
150 grams soft brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
210g plain flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Cinnamon crumble topping
1 tablespoon butter
1.5 tablespoon plain flour
1 tablespoon Demerara sugar (or coconut sugar)
1 tablespoon oats
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ( sell the BEST cinnamon ever).

Method

Preheat oven to 180 C standard / 160 C fan oven. Grease and line an 8-inch round cake tin with non stick baking paper.

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt and sugar. Add sliced apples and stir briefly to combine.

In a separate bowl, mix oil, eggs, vanilla, and yoghurt. Whisk briefly to break up the egg yolks.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and gently mix with a wooden spoon until combined. Spoon into the prepared tin.

To make cinnamon crumble topping, rub the butter into the flour to make a light breadcrumb texture. Add in the sugar until combined. Finally add the cinnamon and oats, mix together then sprinkle over the cake batter.

Bake cake for approximately 30-35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean. Transfer cake to a wire rack to cool completely.

You can play around with this, adding ground & flaked almonds (also available from if you only need a small amount) in the crumble topping. I also made the cake with coconut sugar instead of soft brown, which gave it a deeper caramel flavour.

A quick glance back to last weekends catering, I enjoyed adding a large manchego platter to the grazing table. Whilst taste is always my priority it always pleases me when you can make food look good too and this added a nice visual texture to the table in my opinion!

🫚 G I N G E R S L I C E 🫚

It’s been a while since this treat made an appearance on the grid. Probably the marmite of my treats, you’re either a top fan, or not 🤷🏼‍♀️ ….but someone is definitely buying them judging by my recent cafe orders.

Inspired by the New Zealand Ginger Crunch, my version is made with cashews, oats (gluten free) & dates for the base and is topped with a fudgy ginger topping - all refined sugar-free, vegan & GF.

So if this is enough to get you drooling, head over to or to get hold of one. If it’s not your thing, there’s still Notella cups, Snickered bars/Peanut Butter Cups and Salted Cashew Slices to choose from instead.

🌞🍇🧀🫒🍓 POP UP PLATTERS 🍇🧀🫒🍓

Over the past 6 months I have paused platters and grazing boxes whilst we continue our home renovation. However, I am offering both PLATTERS and GRAZING BOXES on Saturday 4th May, to kick start the first of the May bank holiday weekends!

PLATTERS serve 6 - 8 people
GRAZING BOXES serve 2-4 people

Perfect for a picnic or lunch in the garden! I’ll also be offering add on options, such as my homemade hummus with za’atar roasted chickpeas, fresh focaccia and pots of sweet treats.

A table of open sandwiches, cakes & scones, for a lovely baby shower this afternoon at Chichester Arts Centre (what a beautiful venue!)

A selection of 3 open sandwiches made from infamous seeded sourdough, along with my homemade carrot cakes, chocolate & raspberry cake, and open scones with fresh berries. All delivered on boards, ready to unpack and serve straight to the table.

One of my favourite breakfasts at home … banana bread with Greek yoghurt, crunchy nutty granola and fresh fruits! All part of the breakfast platter I’ll be delivering on Sunday, along with other goodies. I’ll be pretty busy on Sunday, so this plate has my name on it for Monday morning after school drop off, so I can soak up the peace & quiet without rush. Just how good food should be enjoyed!

I advertised a couple of boxes of Snickered bars in my stories late last week and had more requests than supplies. So, I thought I’d offer them, made to order this coming week. If you missed out and would like a supply to have at home then let me know by Monday. I’ll be making them Monday & Tuesday, ready for delivery on Thursday.

A box of ten bars is £30, you can keep them frozen for at least 3 months in an airtight container, or split with a friend. Or just eat them all - no judgement.

My final large event for summer 2024, complete. From prep work through to set up, here’s a quick snippet from this lovely job I catered for on Saturday. A house party for 70 guests at a beautiful home in Bracklesham bay, one I’d been admiring throughout the build so it was extra special to visit in person too! My client asked for a grazing table, with some additional salads and homemade dip to make it more substantial, followed by some sweet treats to finish. Now for a quiet week to enjoy the final part of the school holidays with my kids, and then focus my energy on pushing forward with our own building works 👷‍♀️🏡⚒️ Hopefully a few months to go!

One of my favourite simple summer suppers. Good quality heritage tomatoes with a simple marinade topped with Burrata & lots of black pepper. Served with homemade pesto and warm flatbreads. Best enjoyed outside in the balmy evening air. Delicious!

✨ What a day ✨ Yesterday I had the pleasure of catering for Emma & Ed’s wedding celebration, held at @elessaryurtvillage in Chichester. A grazing table spread for 130 people, set up outside in the beautiful woodland surroundings of Elessar. There were so many wonderful comments about the food; the selection, colour & presentation and what a good choice it was for a relaxed wedding lunch. It seemed to compliment the vibe for the bride & grooms’ special day 💛 Congratulations Emma & Ed, thank you for asking me to be part of your day… what a great crowd too! A great way to kick start some summer jobs I have lined up, catering for @chichesternetball ‘s end of season party. What an amazing club they are! A classic grazing table for 60 people, with some tweaks thrown in to cater for a variety of ages and requirements, and it was lovely to get some great feedback afterwards. I’m still limited with my availability due to the ongoing house reno, but it was lovely to dip my toes back in to what I do. I have a few more events lined up for the summer months, until I can officially start to cater again full time. Recent days…. A lovely, albeit gentle birthday following a horrid virus running through the family, but celebrated with things needed to replenish my cup. Family time, Kingley Vale hike, baking, beautiful gifts, including the much anticipated @georginahayden Greekish (more on this to come). Exciting house site visits, camper van rides & pizza up at the trundle, camper van break down 🛠️ and rescue from our team of friends 🙌🏼. Tennis, flowers, beautiful sunshine & garden time and then a birthday dinner in the garden with friends. More celebrations to come once Mr G&F is fully well, plus a house move this coming weekend, so busy life days! More ‘official’ Gather & Feast posts to follow soon 🌞
