Sgt Brown is not one person, but two. The last names of two operators: Daniel Brown and Richard Sargent. Sargent was abbreviated to Sgt to avoid confusion with the spelling. Daniel Brown is the owner and one of the disc jockeys that performs. He wanted to take his passion for music and excellence, and apply it to the wedding arena. He chose the company name, not only because it fit nicely with the last names, but because he wanted to convey the importance of
having precision, integrity, preparedness, and organization. Hence, the military reference. He felt that the majority of the DJs in the Central Valley area were lacking and sub-par. His mission is to make every event spectacular and to follow the outline that the bride and groom have set out. Richard Sargent started out DJing for a competitor in the Central Valley. When that company stopped its services, Dan approached Richard about combining their experiences and starting Sgt Brown Entertainment and Sound. Quickly they realized that the merger of skills was a great fit because they both had the same vision of what the Valley needed in the wedding DJ market: quality, and integrity. Richard has many years experience from weddings to business mixers. He has a love and a passion for entertaining and making people feel good through music and dance.
