IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS
From the proposal to the reception, weddings are lists and plans (on top of more lists and plans) that we all hope go smoothly. For those who do not hire a coordinator, it can be a very overwhelming process, but it shouldn’t have to be! This is your day so take a deep breath, do not panic, and take a moment with your significant other to write down a timeline to share with all those included in your wedding (parents, the DJ, the bartender, etc.). Also, making copies never hurts! ;)
Here are a few details to include while creating your wedding timeline to ensure a smooth, and perfect wedding day you’ve always dreamed of!
Hair and Make up- Be sure to calculate how much time each of the ladies in your bridal party will need. Have them arrive early with a clean face or have them stay the night with you slumber party style, and get started as early as needed.
Venue Load in- Flowers and decorating TAKES TIME. Be sure to leave time for mistakes as some vendors may forget something, arrive late with traffic, and other possible delays. We hope to never be the one this happens to, but it does happen. So, just be prepared and if you know your ceremony will start early, IT'S OKAY to set up early, everything will still look beautiful even if it’s been set up for awhile.
Band and break time- If you have live music or live performances be sure to check with the DJ on when you’d like to have a break for speeches and announcements so there aren’t any awkward pauses or silences in between. Scheduling the cake cutting (or any other special programming) to take place during the break. Guests won't realize that it is a break the band or DJ had to take, they'll just assume you planned it all that way.
