5 Important Things To Go Over with Your Bartender Before the Big Day!

1. Contracts.
Cost, tip, tip jar, all the beverages, bar set up – these are the details you’ll want to go over with your wedding bartender. This keeps everyone on the same page.

2. Drinking Responsibly.
Inform your bartender of those who are limited to 2 drinks(or no drinks) to prevent any overly intoxicated issues. Keeping everyone sober before the speeches is very important. Also, checking ID’s is a part of the bartenders job! Remind everyone to bring theirs if they plan on celebrating with the bride and groom.

3. Stocking and busing.
Bartender(s) may or may not have a busser and someone to bar back for ice and liquor store runs, especially if not with a service. Have a couple of go to friends to help out if needed or clean up cups and glasses when they have a chance. This keeps everything organized and photos classy.

4. Attire.
If you want your bartender to look a specific way, LET THEM KNOW. Otherwise, black collar shirt, slacks, and sneakers are the norm (and most comfortable) for formal events.

5. Signature Drinks?
Some go for the beer and wine wedding, while others go for it and include most alcoholic beverages. Best way to go is having a signature cocktail. This allows the bartender to get to all your guests in an organized manor, and a smooth reception!

Many Ways to Say “I Do”

Trying to figure out how to pop the question? Your hear is racing, you’re extremely nervous, and you feel like you can’t quite spit it out! This is normal, and also very exciting. You’re going to ask the love of your life to spend the rest of your lives together.
Here are a few proposal ideas to ease the nervousness.

1. Dear Juliette… - Love letters have always been the go-to since before our time. If you think that writing a proposal letter would be fitting for the both of you, GO FOR IT! There’s nothing more romantic than written words she can keep and hold on to forever.
2. Location, location, location!- Proposing at the place the two of you met could be the most comforting and meaningful. Taking the one you love back to a time and a place where it all began and leaving a new memory you can treasure always.
3. Shall we stay for dessert?- Taking your sweetheart to a romantic dinner setting with candles and soothing music playing in the background can certainly set the mood for a perfect proposal (and can also calm the nerves)! Whether you request a seat in the back for just you two or out in middle of the restaurant for all to see your big moment, you can’t go wrong!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS

From the proposal to the reception, weddings are lists and plans (on top of more lists and plans) that we all hope go smoothly. For those who do not hire a coordinator, it can be a very overwhelming process, but it shouldn’t have to be! This is your day so take a deep breath, do not panic, and take a moment with your significant other to write down a timeline to share with all those included in your wedding (parents, the DJ, the bartender, etc.). Also, making copies never hurts! ;)

Here are a few details to include while creating your wedding timeline to ensure a smooth, and perfect wedding day you’ve always dreamed of!

Hair and Make up- Be sure to calculate how much time each of the ladies in your bridal party will need. Have them arrive early with a clean face or have them stay the night with you slumber party style, and get started as early as needed.

Venue Load in- Flowers and decorating TAKES TIME. Be sure to leave time for mistakes as some vendors may forget something, arrive late with traffic, and other possible delays. We hope to never be the one this happens to, but it does happen. So, just be prepared and if you know your ceremony will start early, IT'S OKAY to set up early, everything will still look beautiful even if it’s been set up for awhile.

Band and break time- If you have live music or live performances be sure to check with the DJ on when you’d like to have a break for speeches and announcements so there aren’t any awkward pauses or silences in between. Scheduling the cake cutting (or any other special programming) to take place during the break. Guests won't realize that it is a break the band or DJ had to take, they'll just assume you planned it all that way.
