Looking through my folio today, I found some of the studies I did from life, of our lovely cat Oscar. I had to work quickly before he moved! These are done in watercolour, biro, pencil and coloured pencil.

Artist inspiration number 2 - the American artist Georgia O'Keeffe, Petunia and Glass bottle 1924, on the left. I've always admired the dramatic style of her work.

For a new year challenge, I'm doing some still life studies inspired by artists I love. First up, the Cubist Juan Gris. His painting 'Still Life before an Open Window' 1915 is on the left.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2024 - 'Peach Fuzz'.
According to House Beautiful magazine, "nestled between pink and orange, Peach Fuzz is a soft peach hue with a vintage vibe. This warm and cosy shade....brings a feeling of kindness and tenderness".
Peach Fuzz marks the 25th anniversary of the Pantone Colour of the Year forecast.

This is going to be a lovely fun night for brides -to-be, to chase off the January blues. I’ll be exhibiting at the event, and yes, the advertising illustration is by me!

A recent commission - a large painting for Tara and Stuart, of the Royal Mile featuring both their church (Canongate Kirk) and reception venue (Signet Library). Key elements of the Royal Mile are in between, as chosen by the couple. What a pleasure to paint such a personalised watercolour.
