Rental Kimono&sell Yukata, second hand, authentic Kimono. A small family run over 60years shop The shop for selling Kimono is also my home in Harajyuku.

Our shop has around 50 years history and over 3,000 costumers who are Japanese and non-Japanese. For those who you would like to buy Kimonos,

All these items are at our main shop out side of TOKYO. So please e-mail blue text info, if you are interested in buying Kimono. Our main shop will sent your items to Harajyuku therefor we ask at least 2 days before notice. When your info is not clear (

like " budget : not expensive") , we may not answer it. These info we need "what you like to have and what for it (For wearing, let me know your measurements: height&hip with cm) with budget "

After this info, I will sent our map ( location is different from Kimono rental place). Since a famous Japanese politician live same mansion as our home, security is very high . If I can not see your email with socialized behavior, we may reject your coming.

With new lens, wonderful and great photo! This is only for weekend special lens because this lens from my late father-in-law so only my husband is allowed to use this lens. Lovely Australian sisters, we had memorable time. Thanks to come to our shop! Hair up is done by professional.

Even a heavy rain alert happened in Tokyo but this lucky couple managed to visited the Meiji-shrine and prayed and showed their appreciation to God for their 10 years wedding anniversary. Just it is a few days later of anniversary today, so Japanese God (kami-sama) might help them. Such beautiful smiles! The wife god a professional hair and make up as well. She is a pretty lady, but I feel I prefer she is in Yukata, more elegant! Nice to ceremony your anniversary in Yukata and Kimono :)

Great to meet him! We don't have a common language but using phone translators, we found out what he would like to have!, fan, haori etc.. Many items he got and will leave Japan tomorrow. Last shopping at our shop! Everyone who love Japanese traditional items you are welcome!

Dragonfly or Tonbo is very good motive for Yukata because it remains us autumn which is cool during summer. Japanese culture values seasonality and imagination. It is not only dress just same season pattern but more wished season pattern. It is hot in Tokyu so nice to see autumn motives and wish to become cool soon. She got a different color obi and different obi give different beauty!

One booking was canceled. I already dressed in arimatsu Shibori Yukata so just took a photo of myself then again changed to normal cloth. So life can't be always what we plan and what we wish. Let's do other thing today! Decided to go one temple for Papa in law and pray for him!

Last one this nice Yukata was sold! Great to meet him! He had studied the differences between Haori and Tanzen before coming which helped me a lot. Tanzen is for inside and ryokan offers it when guest feel cold with only being in Yukata. Haori come with kimono and they have spacial tassels for it so not nice to use at home. He tried some Tanzen then bought a sleeveless hanten or Chan Chan ko (last photo). It is warm and relaxing.Nice fabric from kyusyu. Some sad news again about tourists but our shop always have nice and educated guests. I feel so lucky and appreciated! He also understands different between Samuei and Jinbei then of course went to a Samuei!

This cool Yukata called "Katami-gawari" half pattern different for men is last one! It is good for around 185cm. We have an international online shop as well!

Recently it is around 40 degrees in Tokyo! I must thanks to our guests to come our shop even such heat. It is September today so hope it will get cooler soon. I found that I have not dressed in Yukata outside in this year only inside of room! Did you dress Yukata and enjoy festivals?

Wish to worship shrine proper way? Wish to wear Yukata and Kimono traditionally? Wish to have a tea ceremony and ask question's? If you are such cultural parson, our package plan fits you. We value authentic. Not touristic. I suppose whom made gratify at the Meiji-shrine did not know what is correct. There are not so many people who broke rules intentionally, I want to think so. Shrine is very green because of their animism idea so non-Japanese just think it is just forest and wood therefor they behave more casual way compered Chrisitan countries, they made more artificial garden and stone culture. But keeping such big forest in Harajuku where is center of Tokyo, how much effort can you imagine? Anyway, I love my guests because luckily our guests are always cultural lover. Look this young lady follow worship to wash hands before visiting shrine. We will show you how to do!

So sad to see another graffiti at the Meiji-shrine. Looks non Japanese name. Sakaeya Kimono Shop would like our guests to show authentic japanese traditions so we suggest our guests to worship properly at the shrine (we will show how to do). If you follow this, naturally you would like to respect the shrine, I feel. Religion place is not for tourism but for prayer. If you know how local prayers do, you must feel something and can't make such graffiti or unrespect behavior.

I am sorry for American, because Changes in U.S. Customs and Regulations, Japan post stop accepting delivery items now. We can still use ups which is more expensive. I am so glad we could send out a Yukata to NY before this changing. Seems NY customer already received her Yukata!

On July 30, 2025, the U.S. government issued an executive order titled “Termination of De Minimis Treatment for All Countries” regarding mail to the United States.

Under this executive order, starting August 29, 2025, mail containing goods imported for personal use (taxable mail) will no longer be eligible for duty-free treatment, and tariffs will be imposed. On August 15, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced new guidelines regarding the elimination of de minimis rules, which require that transport operators pay customs deposits to CBP and prepare customs declarations. The procedures that transport operators and postal operators in each country must follow to comply with these guidelines are not clear, however, making implementation difficult.

Therefore, starting August 27 (Wed.), in line with other national postal operators, we will temporarily suspend the acceptance of postal items (small packets, parcels, and EMS (goods)) to the United States that contain the following items:

Individual gifts with a content value exceeding 100 US dollars

Goods intended for sale for consumption

In addition, we will continue to accept letters, postcards, printed matter, EMS (documents), and postal items (small packets, parcels, and EMS (goods)) containing gifts between individuals with a value of less than US$100.

As an alternative to the above suspension of acceptance, our international courier service, UGX (U-Global Express), can handle shipments in compliance with U.S. customs regulations:

Nice to talk with him as well even bit hard to understand his Yorkshire accent! They said they stay at a capsule hotel so I thought he might be bit too tall for it (his Yukata 4L which means around 190cm!). He said, "just fit" which remain me our CEO Ehime in her box! Look second photo. Her tail is always out but she believes "just fit"!

not shop but cultural salon we are

If you like to have only nice photos in Kimono, our shop may be not best for you. But if you like culture, our salon would love to have you. Tea ceremony is always come with our kimono rental. Also shopping, we have deep knowledge of how to wear Kimono properly and which occasion and sash is much however if you can not be socialized behavior, our salon can not open to the parson. For example, try so many things and make salon messy or dose not share real Information of your demand( size, budged) . Our salon’s goal is not making money but help people who like to know real Japanese cultuer and both of us appreciate each other.
