𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞…we’ll have enough fun on your wedding day anyway, I promise! 🤍

This rather serious portrait of K&I is actually one of my favorites from their wedding day. There’s something timeless about it that brings me back to the old wedding photographs my parents had hanging in the hallway—pictures of my grandparents and great-grandparents. Did you notice that in those vintage images (especially before the 1920s), smiling wasn’t exactly common? I’ve always wondered why they look so serious, and there are several theories about it. One reason is that photographs were seen as a serious affair, a true reflection of the moment, which often meant solemn expressions and stillness.

I love drawing inspiration from old pictures and translating that aesthetic into 2024. My talent is to capture your emotions with an editorial touch that’s both authentic and artful. If that sounds like a perfect match for your wedding, I’d love to hear from you!

I’m sitting in my office, the heater is on for the very first time and I’m editing another wedding with a hot water bottle on my legs. I almost can’t believe it but autumn 🍂 officially arrived in the Netherlands. 🤍 I do love the cosiness of this season.
What I find so incredible fascinating is the little magic 🪄 that happens in your brain when looking at pictures, because they have the ability to transform you back to a certain moment and feeling. Just like these moments…I’m getting warm thoughts and memories when looking at these gorgeous images I’ve taken in Sicily at and I can’t wait to be back in this beautiful country!

Engagement session in the streets of Amsterdam.

Flowers at the back of a bike, cuddles in the cold to stay warm and plopping champagne because the sound is so good! And to make it very “Dutch”, we even had a little rain in the end so all we could do was run, laugh and keep taking pictures!

Oh how I love my couples and that they trust the process.

Some getting ready vibes on this Tuesday morning…

I’m definitely a night owl and even after having kids this didn’t change a bit. When the house is quiet my creative brain starts working. With weddings it’s the exact same. Arriving at the location, seeing the bride transforming and watching how everything turns from a vision into a beatiful shaped reality - it’s like watching the process of a caterpillar become a butterfly. And then this is where it flows for me as well. Watching and capturing your journey 🦋🤍

|| The intimate wedding of Tala and her husband Diderik at the and on the canals of Amsterdam was such a joy to capture.

The couple is living in South Africa and had a very intimate ceremony on a boat of in Amsterdam only with their closest family members and friends. Such a joy to capture these special moments for them.
