Five intrepid teams braved the cold and snow last night to come out to Butler Brew Works for another fun evening of Ramshackle Trivia! The three squads who successfully answered our literary Ultimate Game Changer question finished on the podium: Team Fagan in first, Pearl Street Reboot in second, and just off PSR's pace in third, first time players the Broken Donuts! We were snug as bugs in a rug last night, as we moved indoors at The Bonniebrook for winter play! No Talent A*z Clowns held a narrow lead going into the Ultimate Game Changer, but couldn't hold onto it as a nugget of forgotten history remained forgotten to them. They slipped to third, behind second place More of Us, and our champions with 301 points*, the Blind Squirrels! Congratulations to our winners!

* Tuesday, January 14, 7:00 p.m. at Butler Brew Works

* Thursday, January 16, 7:00 p.m. at Saxonburg Fireman's Club

* Friday, January 17, 7:00 p.m. - Monthly Neighborhood Trivia Mixer at Meadow Brook Apartment Homes (This game is for Meadow Brook residents and their guests, and does not count toward the league standings)

Our next super special Saturday night themed trivia game at Tannin and Tonic by Porchvue Winery is coming up on Saturday, January 25, when we'll be having a night of Nineties TV Trivia!

We will have 32 questions about 32 of the great programs from the Bush I and Clinton eras, so no matter what your favorites were, they will (probably) be represented!

It'll be absolutely free to play, it'll be a whole lot of fun, and there will be prizes for the top three teams.

The game will get going at 7:00 p.m. That's Saturday, January 25! Come play with us! We can't wait to see you!

It's tough to compete against a Steelers playoff game that was scheduled six days prior, but as it turns out, we probably had more fun last night at our very special Star Wars trivia night at Tannin and Tonic by Porchvue Winery!

The Force was strong with Who's the Bossk, who ran away with the game, answering 30 out of 32 questions correctly! Congratulations to our winners! Jabba the What finished in second place, while Jedi Mind Trick took third.

Ramshackle Trivia was back at Saxonburg Fireman's Club last night, in the cozy confines of the downstairs area! Death Star Trench Run opened a narrow lead on the Blind Squirrels after Round 3, and clung to that lead through to the end, while the Guest Speakers outpaced Just Guessin' for third. After a few weeks off for the holiday, we are back at Saxonburg Fireman's Club tonight for a new, exciting league season of Ramshackle Trivia!

Trivia is moving to the downstairs area at the SVFC, where we'll be setting up at the opposite end of the room from the bar. The full menu will still be available, and the downstairs will be non-smoking on trivia nights.

We've got a really fun game in store for you tonight, so come out and play with us! We can't wait to see you!

For those asking: We are still going to be having trivia at The Bonniebrook on Monday nights. I spoke with Beau earlier today, and he told me about the changes they're making. You'll still be able to eat your food there, you'll just have to pick it up at the counter when it's ready, like you do at Subway. 🙂

We got the band back together!

It was like old times last night at Butler Brew Works, with a bunch of new friends joining most of the old regulars, picking up where we left off 14 months ago! Oh, what a night!

We had nine teams and 29 players last night, kicking off the new league season of Ramshackle Trivia. Six of the nine teams correctly answered the Ultimate Game Changer, and so it was Team Fagan at the top of the heap, with More of Us in second place and Pearl Street Reboot edging out the Food Fighters for third.

Thanks so much to everyone for coming out to play! We'll be back again next Tuesday night at B*W for another exciting episode of Ramshackle Trivia!

Tonight is the night! Butler Brew Works has expanded their hours and are open on Tuesdays, starting tonight, and Ramshackle Trivia will be there for your entertainment, education and amusement!

Come sample Butler Brew Works' varied array of tasty microbrews and their vast menu where everything is delicious!

And while you're there, challenge yourself with an engaging game of locally-made trivia, as we kick off our second league season (for realsies this time!). The game starts at 7:00 p.m. It's free to play, it's a whole lot of fun, and there will be prizes for the top three teams.

The holidays are over, the new league season has begun, and we've got a super busy week ahead, jam packed with four brand new games of Ramshackle Trivia!

* Monday, January 6, 7:00 p.m. at The Bonniebrook - If the weather forecast is accurate, we will probably be moving the game off of the deck and indoors.

* Tuesday, January 7, 7:00 p.m. at Butler Brew Works - B*W at Jefferson and Main is now open on Tuesdays, and we will be there!

* Thursday, January 9, 7:00 p.m. at Saxonburg Fireman's Club - We are moving our weekly game to the downstairs area, on the opposite side of the room from the bar. There will still be full kitchen service, as before. The downstairs will be non-smoking on trivia nights.

* Saturday, January 11, 7:00 at Tannin and Tonic by Porchvue Winery - A very special evening of "Star Wars" trivia!

I've had a few inquiries about the possibility of getting Ramshackle T-shirts made. So I've put a cost-conscious, one-sided, one-color design together (in Ramshackle Indigo). What does everyone think of these?

You could order shirts in any color you like. On the design page linked below, I picked out 20 colors that I thought the design looks nice on (and put screenshots of four of them on this post), but there are over 60 to choose from. You can see what all is available here:

They come in sizes between Small and 4X Large. The more shirts you order, the cheaper they are, so if we get enough interest, the prices will go below $20.

Happy New Year, Ramshackle Trivia faithful! We've got some venue updates for you, for the new league season that starts on Monday, January 6:

The Bonniebrook : No changes; we will be there Monday nights, starting at 7:00.

Butler Brew Works : Starting January 7, B*W at Jefferson and Main will be expanding their hours to be open on Tuesdays, and we will be there for your entertainment and amusement! Trivia starts at 7:00.

Saxonburg Fireman's Club : We're back on Thursday nights at 7:00, starting January 9, but this season, we will be playing downstairs instead of upstairs. This will make things a lot easier on the volunteers for setup and cleanup. There's more than enough room downstairs; we'll be setting up on the opposite side of the room from the bar. They'll still be operating a full kitchen, and the downstairs room will be non-smoking on trivia nights.

Tannin and Tonic by Porchvue Winery : We're going to be doing once- or twice-monthly special themed games on the weekends at T & T, but the regular weekly games have been discontinued. The weekend games will count toward the league standings. Our next game there will be "Star Wars" trivia on Saturday, January 11!

We'll also be having our monthly trivia mixers at Meadow Brook Apartment Homes, for Meadow Brook residents and guests, but these games won't count toward the league standings.

So, have a great New Year, folks! Thank you all so much for playing, and we will see you again starting Monday, January 6 for another exciting season of Ramshackle Trivia!
