Merry Christmas, from our family to yours! ⁣
⁣
I’m thankful we can live knowing the truth of the gospel and that Jesus came to save us all. He loves YOU and came to earth as a baby born in a humble place, grew up to be a man who followed God’s commands, and eventually died on our behalf so that we could spend eternity with Him in Heaven. ⁣
⁣
Without Christ, there is no Christmas.⁣
He is the reason we celebrate, our main focus.⁣
⁣
If I’m being honest, I have let the worries of the world overshadow the celebration of this season— never ending to do lists, the possibility of our babies getting sick if exposed to others, creating memories for our girls, and ordinary everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning. ⁣
⁣
But when I sit and remind myself (or let’s be honest, I’m not always able to sit, but I can make my mind focus on what truly matters even while doing those tasks)... in those moments, I’m reminded of Jesus and my mindset shifts. ⁣
⁣
The to do list changes from things I have to do to things I’m able to do. ⁣
⁣
The worries of my babies getting sick fade at the thought of our ultimate Protector and Healer. ⁣
⁣
The pressure to create memories and start traditions with our girls is replaced with the reminder of simply being present with them and enjoying simple moments, like movies and “pop-torn” as Henrietta calls it. ⁣
⁣
The cooking and cleaning turn from work to worship as I am reminded of the blessing it is to care for our home and our family. ⁣
⁣
& the gifts, oh the gifts!!⁣
The searching and buying and making and and wrapping... it can be overwhelming. But I truly love this part! ⁣
The reason we love to give is because God first gave to us. We give gifts because He showed us how. It is more blessed to give than receive.⁣
⁣
If you’re reading this I am praying for you this season. Praying that you find peace in Jesus, call on Him if you haven’t before, make Him Lord of your life— and live knowing that He never leaves you or forsakes you. I’m praying you (and I) take time to be still and behold Him, for He is good and His love endures forever.

Sometimes last minute decisions are the best decisions— like this arbor we added above the head table to bring the outdoors inside, and truly capture their garden vision. It was the perfect addition to Luke and Jorden’s ballroom reception . I can’t wait to share even more photos from this beautiful day!

We’ve spent more days and nights away from our girl the past few weeks than with her due to Hosanna’s delivery and recent hospitalization. Although we know as parents that taking care of our baby that’s sick is our top priority, we have missed our energetic and loving toddler. Every time we FaceTime her she knows a new word and is forming new sentences— in many ways it feels like she has grown 5 years in the past 5 weeks. As I sit in the hospital room with Hosanna on asleep on my chest, I am so very thankful for answered prayers... and I continue to plead and ask God for our family to be healthy and happy together at home again soon. My man, my best friend— today marks 30 years of life to celebrate, and I’m thanking God for the blessing it has been spending the last 10 of them by your side.

I remember the first time we met, when we realized our relationship was more than just friendship, and when we naively thought we loved each other the most we ever would on our wedding day.

As the years have passed I am even more grateful for and in love with you today.
You are invaluable, irreplaceable, and the hero of our home.

Celebrating your birthday looks very different than I had planned this year, but we are choosing joy and counting our blessings— especially our sweet baby girl coming soon.

Thank you for loving and leading our family well.
