I took this photo a couple of Springs back, watching the sparrow fledglings play fighting (but surprisingly aggressively when you watch how close their talons get to each other's eyeballs!) outside my window. I held back on posting it anywhere whilst it was being judged in the last stages of the competition. Alas, I found out today it didn't make the cut this year, but it's still one of my favourite images.

I was driving to a local woods to take photos, early one morning in November when it was really frosty. I spotted this scene by the crossroads I was on, so pulled over to take some photos. These were far better than anything subsequently taken in the woods. There's a moral there somewhere.

I took a photo of this same scene last year. It's one of those arrangements that kind of draw you in, it seems. A week or so after this latest shot I noticed the branch looping over the top had completely fallen off in the bad weather. I guess when I inevitably am tempted with the same scene again next year it's going to look a little different.
