This is the best crew I could ever ask for. Amanda, Dawne, Pililani and Mike I can’t thank you guys enough. Sandbridge Gift Baskets and Sandbridge Island Restaurant are starting our annual FOOD DRIVE for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia a tad early this year.

They are in dire need of donations. Please bring non-perishable food items and drop in foyer at Sandbridge Island Restaurant anytime they are open.

This will continue until further notice. Thank you for giving back.

Just wanted to share this shout out that was given to my great friend Amanda.
For years she has been my assistant at some of my weddings and events when she is available. We have worked alongside each other at several restaurants and had the best times. She is awesome and I couldn’t have made it this far without her help through the years. Thanks Amanda, i am probably the only one on the planet that doesn’t call her Mandi. 😂❤️

It’s a holiday week, so instead of our regular Monday post, we are doing an EXTRA SPECIAL Meet the Flockers Tuesday. This time around, we are featuring our incredible bartender and server, Mandi! Mandi hasn’t been on our team for too long, but you may know her from behind the bar at some of her other gigs in the area. Quick with a warm and welcoming smile, Mandi is a friend to all. She exudes a lightheartedness and love of life that is hard to come by these days. Don’t let that fun exterior fool you - she is as hard a worker as they come - but you may just catch her singing and dancing her way through a busy shift or tedious sidework. Not only has Mandi chosen to grace our Flock with her light and laugher, but she’s recently brought her amazing daughter onto our team as well! You can’t help but have a good time when Mandi is around, and we hope you’ll come out and let her make your day as she serves up delicious drinks with a smile. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Mandi!

How long have you been working at Blue Pete’s? I’ve been at Blue Pete’s for just over a year now.

Where are you from? I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. But have been in Virginia Beach for just over 20 years now.

What’s your favorite Blue Pete’s menu item? The brunch burger, sub home fries!

If you could have dinner with any one person, dead or alive, who would you choose? I would love to have dinner with my grandfather. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, unfortunately.

What is one fun fact about you? Music is life to me. I always have music playing, and going to concerts is therapy for me!

I started my business, Sandbridge Events, close to 15 years ago. I also started Sandbridge Gift Baskets then as well. Pililani was my partner in that business and we had no clue if it would work but we did it. She moved on shortly after we got things rolling since her work as a counselor and a professor at TCC kept her busy. I plugged on and now I have an amazing wedding & event planning business and a thriving gift basket business. So many thanks go to her. She is always there as my assistant at events if she is able and I couldn’t do it without her help. Thank you Pililani for all you have done and for being one of my greatest friends. I love you. 💕

I had the pleasure of working with Summer Lane, planning and following through on, a perfect for us beach wedding, that my wife and I, and our entire family will remember for the rest of our lives.
