My blog post for this week is up!

Edit: My featured photo is not working on here, I apologize.

One of the things I find most interesting is stewardship work in the event industry. This is what my job at the UNI Foundation looks like as an Event & Stewardship Student Assistant consists of.

I have learned the importance of how to recruit donors, encouraging them for their support, and nurturing them into continual giving. One of the best ways to do this is to have an event to show your appreciation to special individuals.

Check it out with the link below! ✨

Here are some great tips for beginners! You don’t even have to be in the industry to follow them.

Most of these tips are essential for being successful with an event.

The one that we use most in my job at UNI, is to always plan for the unexpected. You must be able to know what to do if a guest doesn’t show up, always have an emergency plan prepared, have a seating chart on hand to be able to make last minute changes if needed, and the list could go on and on.

There are so many things that can come up, so always prepare for something that isn’t on the itinerary!

Remember when I said steps are important to follow in event work? Well checklists are too! At my job with the UNI Foundation, we have checklists for almost all of our events. Whether it’s for packing or organizing, we use them all the time!

Here is a basic event checklist for all of my followers to keep and use!

(Also, I know I usually have a blog post every Friday, but today is a special day so I will not have a post out.) ✨

Dreamers imagine the future, but it's the planners who bring those dreams to life. ✨

This is the reason so many people go in to the event industry! Many don’t see that aspect, but this line of work can be so rewarding and that’s the best part.

This week's post is about tourism and special events within that realm. As a result of being in a Community-Based Tourism class this semester, I have become very interested in tourism and its concepts.

Something I have learned is that smaller communities have the biggest challenge when it comes to tourism. This is because of limited resources like financial strain or lack of community support. Despite this, tourism can be a very important industry within communities because of the economic impact it can make.

Read more about this topic with the link below! (you can also access my website through a basic search console) ✨

Special events play a significant role in tourism, often serving as focal points for attracting visitors and enhancing the overall tourism experience. These events are typically unique, memorable, and designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences. Here are some examples of special events in touris...

One piece of advice that a colleague once told me, was to always have dessert at an event if you’re providing a meal.

Providing dessert not only completes the dining experience, but also enhances the event atmosphere by promoting socialization and ending the night with a satisfied sweet tooth. Leaving a lasting impression on attendees is an important aspect of event planning.

So a tip for your next event, don’t forget to order the dessert! ✨
