Some textposting before I spend the rest of the day packing and mentally decompressing

- backlog work will continue next week. I owe some people some updates on some of the heavier projects and I will get to that after I get through the weekend

- due to supplier difficulties, Forager's Pouches sold this weekend at Magics & Mystics will be the last of its design... for now. I have some changes planned for the belt loop, and I might need to find a more sustainable version of the drawstring pouch parts. Until then, I might not be able to offer it for MTO, but rest assured, I'll have something by my next booth appearance.

- I'll be offering minor leather repair services at the event on a "pay what you want" system (I forgot to add it to my wares and services list lmao)

yet another WIP post coz I'm on merch prep crunch once again.

Today's dedicated to shaping a batch of Karambits. I overdid it a bit with the blowtorch but here's the first one with a wooden handle. Still needs some additional cleanip and sanding but hooray, it's karambit shapes

reach maintenance randomposting

My hole punch board shifted around a lot when I use my press and that made it difficult to keep up momentum while crafting. Managed to find a small cutting board I can use with my press, it was the one I used before I picked up a better rubbernhole punch board (the black one in the previous photos).

I bolted it down so it doesn't shift around while I punch seam holes on larger/longer items. Kept the handle too so it's easier to carry around.

- Trying out a new attachment system on the back that includes a snap loop for MOLLE grids, vertical and horizontal belt loops
- current dimensions fit a switch lite with hard case measuring 8.25 x 3.75 x 1.25 inches.

workshop upgrade storytime post so my reach doesnt flatline too badly:

early in the pandemic, i bought the drill press shown in the photos. its the kind you can attach a separate power drill to. it was kinda meh to use since you had to pull down the crank while pulling the drill trigger at the same time, and sometimes the resistance would displace the whole setup. Should've expected as much for something that cost me about php600-ish

When lockdown restrictions eased up and i found a supplier for power tools, I eventually bought a proper drill press machine. so this drill press device sat in my workshop collecting dust for a couple of years.

fast forward a couple of weeks ago, I thought to look up a means to make punching seam holes less tedious and hammer-y lol. I found a dedicated machine for php7.5k-ish and had it sit in my Sh0p33 cart for a while before i decided "hey, i already have a drill press. i just need a drill chuck to attach my seamhole punchers to it right?"

so 200 pesos and a couple of days later, we have this setup.

it takes a bit to configure when you swap around the hole punches, adjusting it for height and what not but i can work a bit quieter and faster now, and the lack of repetitive hammering means i don't wear myself out mentally too fast.
