WEATHER PROOFING does not just mean for rain! It is for rain, wind, heat or cold weather. When thinking of your ceremony programs, consider having them in a basket with a weight or delegating someone to pass them out instead of on each chair. When thinking about your welcome sign, test it out on your easel to make sure it could withstand wind. Add items around your easels to help keep them sturdy. Consider adding your signage into frames, but not with glass because those could potentially break in the wind too. If you’re having a barn wedding, be open to moving the cake cutting up in case the warm weather starts to make it melt. There’s so much to consider, but that’s why you bring on professionals 😮‍💨

EXITS don’t have to be at the end of the night! Exits can be from the ceremony or faux. I like an exit at the end of the night if the couple wants a private last dance and / or has paid for the photographer and videographer to stay until the end of the night. But if not, try an exit from the ceremony, whether that’s bubbles, ringing bells, streamers or rice! You can also do a faux exit while your photographer is still there too. Grab the wedding party and some VIPs and set up a pretend exit. But also check your venue’s contract first!!
