Well Team, That’s a wrap! 

Thank you to everyone that has come out over the last three weeks of our Hey, Let’s Chat Winter Series to support our speakers and their charities of choice. 

It has been huge in the sense of gathering community and connecting, and sitting down with some of Tauranga’s best for light-hearted banter and laughter.  A big thank you to our speakers for coming out for these nights, and stripping things back and sharing their journeys.

Another quick spotlight for our charities: Bowel Cancer NZ, R.R.R Animal Rescue, the Hayley Whiting Olympic Campaign, Brave, Te Raranga Charitable Trust, The Dubler Family Fundraiser - Running for MND, the Graeme Di**le Foundation, Melanoma NZ, and Lifeline Aotearoa.  Thank you to those that brought a ticket in support, and made donations on the night.  All proceeds from the event will between the charities named.

Introducing our final speaker for our Hey, Let’s Chat Winter Series - the infamous Anna Mellalieu.

Anna founded The Beauty HQ in 2008, a collaborative workspace created for business owners in the hair and beauty industries, and an environment known to be fun, loving, welcome and entertaining. She has since launched her book ‘My Will Wishes’ in 2022, selling over 1000 copies nationwide, and outside of these ventures you can find her digging into charitable trust work helping others, which she was born to do.

Anna’s charity of choice is Melanoma NZ, a charity aimed to save lives every day by raising awareness about melanoma prevention and early detection.

A man of many ventures, joining us on the couch this Thursday for Hey, Let’s Chat is Clayton Mitchell. From cutting his teeth in hospitality as a teenager, to DJ’ing and bar work - this was just the beginning.

Buying his first business in 1996 here in Tauranga, he has since opened various bars, restaurants and clubs in Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Hamilton, Wellington and Hawkes Bay. You may also know him as the organiser of the famous Blues Brews and BBQ’s, The Sand Bar, and On the Lawn.

We’ll touch more on his consultancy firm (Ensure Group), his time as a Tauranga City Councillor for Mount Maunganui / Papamoa Ward and being a Member of Parliament with NZ First from 2014 to 2020, to his most recent business venture as the owner of Fit Nation Mount Maunganui.

Clayton’s charity of choice is the Graeme Di**le Foundation. A foundation that works in our schools and communities with our tamariki and rangatahi at different stages of life. Aiming for a positive outlook, and a positive future.

A flavour hard to match - introducing a ‘Hey, Let's Chat’ Week Three speaker, Brutus Powers.

Bay of Plenty born and bred, Brutus’ main bag of tricks since 2003 has consisted of the world of Media & Entertainment. Whether it’s radio, hosting events across the Motu, or DJ'n at Aotearoa’s iconic festivals, these are just some of the legendary things in his scrapbook so far. We’ll be chatting with him about his evolving role and journey as Director of NZ Entertainment & Beats of Plenty.

This Commonwealth Games Weightlifter is joining us on the couch to share the tales of her love for sports from a young age, her uni days, to now prepping to represent Aotearoa in Saudi Arabia for the World Weightlifting Championships happening next month.
