Yesterday I married the lovely Dorothy and Araldo. In the photo is their little dog Ziggy who also as ring bearer wore a veil. We had: a wedding band warming, drinking from the quaich, personal vows, legal vows, the story of their journey as a couple, and a personal poem written by me followed by an ancient Celtic blessing. The bride’s entrance dressed in all black with black gloves and dancing to punk music took everyone by surprise (including the groom) then she danced back down the aisle, throwing off the black outfit to reveal a beautiful wedding dress and veil. What a girl and what a bride! Everyone including the groom loved it! A great match and what a fun couple! 🩷

❤️ Back at Kilmardinny Art House yesterday to marry Jonathan and Elizabeth. I talked about their journey and we had a lovely gift for mother’s ritual as well as drinking from the quaich. I brought a mini quaich with orange juice for their two children to join in and they were absolute angels, so well behaved. The couple took their legal vows and I wrote a poem for them. We finished off with an Irish blessing. Love this job!

❤️ Yesterday I had the privilege of marrying Megan and Blair at Strathaven Hotel. Megan and Blair were so laid back, no wedding nerves and it was a really fun day. We kicked off with a mutual hugging ritual where all the guests hugged each other in the style of a Mexican wave. We told the story of the couple, did handfasting and drinking from the quaich and a saxophonist played the music. The ring bearer was a gorgeous little boy in a black suit, sunglasses with ‘special agent’ on the legs and he carried a wee black case which he opened with great aplomb and produced the ring box. This is the best job in the world ❤️

How lovely to see Thistle Ceremonies in print, as .celebrant has been the individual sponsor for her son Adam, who plays for . They were in action yesterday at the Melrose 7’s competition where the action was fast paced and the standard extremely high! Well done Adam, we’re all very proud that you have carried the Thistle name this season! 🤩

❤️ On Wednesday I was honoured to conduct the wedding ceremony of Tina and Billy - Mr & Mrs Gardner at Boclair House. A joyful ceremony with lots of laughs along the way and a wonderful couple to work with. I am so lucky to meet people like this and get to share in these special occasions. ❤️

This morning I smiled because I passed someone I hadn't seen for a while and I smiled more thinking of some hilarious and fun memories that made me happy.
