I STARTED ON Macintosh - Plato Sytem WHEN THE INTERNET FIRST STARTED in 1983 as a student and Teachers Aide for COMPUTER LITERACY. THIS WAS BERFORE WINDOW MSDOS STARTED IN 1985. JUST SAYING!

The internet is widely considered to have started on January 1, 1983, when the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) and the Defense Data Network adopted the Transfer Control Protocol/Internetwork Protocol (TCP/IP) standard. This allowed computers on different networks to communicate with each other.
However, the internet's origins date back to the 1960s, when government researchers began using the internet to share information. Some key events in the history of the internet include:
Early 1960s
Joseph Carl Robnett Licklider created the first practical schematics for the internet.
Late 1960s
Paul Baran proposed a distributed network, which would allow surviving points to communicate with each other even if one point was destroyed.
1972
France began its own Arpanet-like project called CYCLADES, which pioneered the idea that the host computer should be responsible for data transmission.
1990
Computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, which popularized the internet among the public.
