We’re officially nominated for Best Design & Decor Under $30,000 at this year’s International Live Events Association () Star Awards, and honestly, we’re feeling all the feels!

Our work on Olu’s Home () 25th Anniversary Celebration brought bold florals, custom signage, and vibrant pops of color to life—all with the goal of making every guest feel like they were part of something unforgettable.

And now, our hard work is up for an award. I mean, talk about a moment. 🪐✨

We find out on March 21st at the Area 21-themed gala, and you already know we’ll be bringing our A-game. Whether we snag the win or not, we’re just grateful to be among such incredible talent.

How it all began...

8 years ago, I planned my own wedding. I researched all the vendors, made all the decisions, created custom stationery, coordinated the rehearsal and even did all of the day-of set up.

As much as I loved the idea of being in control of all the details, I lost the one thing that was the most important… Being the bride.

I turned into the bridezilla I never wanted to be. Not because the reception space had to be at a perfect 73 degrees (come on now, that’s a little much). It was because I was so stressed out trying to put together one of the most important days of my life that I was fighting with family and friends for not helping (it wasn’t their fault or their wedding), I didn’t eat or sleep much because I wanted everything to go as planned and when it came to the actual day of the wedding, I did the set-up, tear down, answering vendor questions and cuing the music. I lost the ability to be the bride because I was too busy trying to be the planner.

If I knew now, what I knew then, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to invest in a planner or coordinator so I could get my moment back. You only get one day—one shot, one first look, one I do and one moment. Don’t let it pass you by because you decided to save money instead of saving your day. There is no rush to the alter. Taking the time to plan it right, with the proper help and all the little details that speak truly to who you are as a couple is how you have to most memorable day of your life. Don’t cut corners because of budget. Instead of saying I can’t afford it, ask yourself how can I afford it?
