Jesus feeds 5,000 on a hillside. He stays with them to teach them and doesnt send any them away hungry who wanted to be near Him.
( if you need a refresher from this story check out Mat 14:13–21, Mark 6:31–44, Luke 9:12–17 and/or John 6:1–14)
I cant help but see the similarities these stories have with the Reclaim Concert. Infact, this story has been written on my Reclaim board for me to see the whole time we were putting things together because God related my experiences more than once to this story.
First was when I started going out, calling people in. The disciples in the story didnt know how to feed them when Jesus said to not let them leave hungry. But they took what they had ( a few loaves and fish) and brought it to Jesus. I knew, as I walked this path to put on Reclaim, just what it felt like to not know how God was going to do it but I did know, is that what I do have, will be enough.
Again I was reminded of this story when I visited Blossom for the walk through. Seeing the entire event center is on a mound. Such a Christ thing to do. "Come be with me", of course, on a mound.
Again when He told me to "gather his people" and agaim when he told me to "feed his sheep", I thought of this story.
And now again, as we look at the possible numbers of attendees, which was anywhere between 5,000 and 8,000 (im not sure why each person got different numbers. Maybe to keep us from stumbling on numbers that is only beneficial to man). But take that smallest number of 5,000. Jesus fed 5,000 (or more), on a mound, once again, with only what one person had available. And not just feed them, but supplied so much of Himself that even the employees were filled!!!!
How incredible it has been to see God stay faithful and true. One commonality in all the stroies that have come through is how the Holy Spirit was felt! Believers or not. Attendees or emplyees. Everyone shares how they felt something that was irrefutably present. For some, it was the first time the
