Hey everyone! I first want to apologize for not posting on here for a while. I had personal things come up that set me back. Aside from that I am back and ready to start taking orders! I would like to start something new and different for my business.

I would like to start selling DIY kits (includes random wood flowers, different bottles of paint, vase, floral stem wire and glycerin - to soften the flowers)

I will also include the option of having the wood flowers pre colored (will include vase and floral stem wire) if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

What are wood flowers made from? What do they look like?

Sola (or ‘shola’) wood flowers are made from a plant called Aeschynomene aspera. It’s a plant that grows wild in marsh areas. Because it grows quickly, it is a renewable resource and one of the lightest known woods. If you’ve ever touched balsa wood before, it’s a very similar feeling.

The plant has a layer of bark that covers the internal, cork-like center of the plant (called the ‘cream’). In most flowers, the bark is stripped and the center is made into thin sheets. It is these sheets that are hand-cut to make sola wood flowers.

Sometimes, the bark is left on before the creation of sheets, creating a unique two-tone effect on the flower. These are called ‘bark’ or ‘skin flowers’.

Hello everyone 👋! Welcome to my new and improved business page 🤗. To start off my name is Kara Cooper. I am a wife and mom of two. I got married in 2022 and one of the biggest things I had a hard time deciding on is what flowers I wanted to use. After further research I was introduced to wood flowers. I knew the moment I received them that I was going to love them. These flowers are affordable, last a lifetime and you can use them for every occasion. For those who don't know what wood flowers are I will make a separate post with a description and pictures.
