Did you know Daylight Saving Time was first adopted by Germany during World War 1? They were looking for ways to save energy for war production. When Daylight Saving Time was adopted in the United States many areas had different schedules of when the time would change. In 1966 a federal law was passed making Daylight Saving Time a national standard. Most countries near the equator do not observe Daylight Saving Time.
