Not your typical pretty flower picture, but I think this is even better!
Although this has been an incredibly dry Fall season, the mild temperatures are really making our plant babies thrive.

I never thought a foliage plant would be my favorite crop of 2024. This plant is called Hibiscus Mahogony Splendor, and I just love it! It brings all the Fall vibes to arrangements.

End of summer Gladiolus🌺 Gladiolus are definitely on my top 5 list of favorites- I think of them as the summer version of Irises, which are my #1 favorite flower!
We will have some of these for our first Fall Festival coming up soon, !

I miss having a trunk full of flowers! August has been a slow, flower free month. It was actually nice to have a break, take a small weekend trip, and get ready for Fall which is always our busiest season. We'll be back with lots of flowers starting mid September through October🧡🎃 can't wait to see you at one of our Fall Festivals!

When your neighbor sells mulch, so you trade flowers for woodchips💐
Our summer flowers are pretty much done, so now it's full force to clean everything up for Fall planting.
Unfortunately, we won't be at the Bordentown Farmer's Market for the next few weeks while we are on a summer break.
We'll be back in action this Fall with some fun festivals and a big wedding. Thank you for your support this season!

Hi there👋 I'm Nicole! It's been a while since I've introduced myself. Whether you just started following us or have been following for a while- thank you for being here!

Buds and Botanicals is a 2-person 2-dog team! Together with the help from Tom and our 2 hound dogs Barney and Clyde, we work hard to grow specialty cut flowers for floral designers and our community. Buds and Botanicals started in 2020 and is getting settled at its permanent location in Tabernacle, NJ. There's still lots of work to do, but overall, our first growing year in this new space was a success!

If you've been following along, you'll know that I often refer to Tom and I as "Pineys". I could talk for hours about the Pine Barrens and Jersey Agriculture. Growing up in the Pines is something I'm proud of! Did you know that some of the first flower farmers in NJ were considered pineys? They would harvest pinecones, cedar, sphagnum moss, reed grass, corn flower, and so much more to bring to flower markets in Philidelphia. Knowing our roots and learning about the history of our gardens has helped shape our business. I'm proud of what we've done and excited to see how we grow!

regional conference day 1 was a success! 🌱 Wish I had more time and photos with all the wonderful people that visited Kube Pak today! I love seeing our cut flower plug program at Kube Pak grow, and I'm happy to be a part of it all.
It was great to finally meet Morgan and Jessy from , who I've been a long-time fan of.
It was also a blast having Mimo of in my tour group. I hope you loved my jersey girl craziness🤣💐

The heat wave has really made our flower patch burst with color!

First NJ Peonies and Foxglove of the season, and last of the NJ Tulips... what a dream!

We are working through quite a few wedding requests we've gotten since this first one back in May. Thank you everyone, for your interest and support! I'm surprised to see the floral design side of my business start to flourish and take off!

The field is officially winter ready! Everything is covered and ready for a rest this winter before spring. Here are some must haves for successful low tunnels: -use rebar to put your hoops on, NOT fiberglass rods. Rebar is way stronger. -use paracord (or polycord) to fasten your plastic on. Any other type of string or twine will fray, break, and be such a nightmare to deal with! -when fastening the paracord to the rebar use bank line (nylon string coated in tar). -use STRONG t-posts. Don't cheap out on getting the small thin cheap ones. Get atleast 6' pieces that are thick! My biggest mistake last year was getting whatever supplies were the cheapest! Every string broke, fiberglass rod snapped, and as a result my crops suffered. Getting good materials from the start will make winter growing a lot less stressful!
