We are in our third year of growing cut flowers on our farm in Lucas Ohio. We provide flowers for florists and freelance designers throughout Central Ohio. Although choosing to use only flowers grown in Ohio may limit the variety of flowers available during certain times of the year we chos

e to use substantially grown flowers over chemically laced imported flowers! We are flower farmers first and foremost, LEARNING to master the skill of growing quality flowers using the most sustainable practices. We don't have a traditional brick and mortar retail shop, instead we choose to maintain our "farm" as just that, a working farm. Due to much interest we are working to hopefully open a market stand (open a couple days a week) later this summer. The stand will offer bouquets and any available produce from the gardens. Stay tuned for more information. A website is also under construction and should be completed within a few weeks. Thank you to all of you who are following us along on this crazy idea of ours!

It's hard to believe it has been almost a year since I posted an update here at the patch. We are still here!
For the last couple of years, we have shifted our attention to selling wholesale to floral professionals, but we miss you guys! Trying to find a happy medium between all my projects (IFYKYK), has been hard over the last couple of years, but when we heard that a new farmer's market was starting in our area, we were excited to see what it was all about.
We are excited to be part of the new .market that will start Friday, June 28th. The market runs from 3p-7p. We hope you can stop and check out the new market and support some amazing farmers. The flowers are coming on strong, and I'm pretty sure the lavender will be ready to harvest by then, too! 💜

Hello friends! It has been a long time with no posting... sorry about that!
Lots of things have changed around here as we have shifted towards wholesale and running the .
You will start to see some changes on this page as I shift my attention here towards more gardening, homesteading, healing, and overall wellbeing.
We have received a lot of messages about flowers from our local customers and since we are no longer doing retail I would like to introduce you to a fellow flower lover who is doing retail right here in our area. is located just a short drive to Ashland and has a beautiful roadside stand. Please check her out for all your floral needs!
Pictured here is the lavender that I'm harvesting this morning....that in the past was just sold for its beauty, but it will now be used for its many medicinal benefits.
If you are looking for some fresh bunches just for beauty, I'm pretty sure Robey's Flower Farm still have some of theirs available in their roadside stand.

Good morning friends.....
Looks like we finally have some weather that feels like mid-November! We had our first fire in the woodburner last night...it feels good to be sleeping on top of the covers with the window wide open again. 😂 IYKYK.
This morning we will be at the Heartland Church in Lexington from 10-2....fresh wreaths, pine bundles, curly willow bunches, and tulip bulbs you can plant now for spring blooms!
Lots of great shows going on locally this weekend...get out there and support your local small businesses.

We have also had several people ask about grave blankets...if you still want one you need to get your order in now!

We are still here 😂😭🤯
Just because the fresh flower season is over doesn't mean we have started our winter long hibernation...we have a lot more to get done before we can sit and enjoy the Browns without guilt.
Tulip planting has started. We are prepping for our wreath workshop on Nov. 20th....which tickets are still available for...link in bio. And our biggest project for the late fall/early winter will be dividing all the dahlia tubers that we invested in when announced he would be closing his farm after this season. We inherited more tubers then we will be able to plant for next season, so if you are a grower or home garden and would like to take a look at the availability list please send a DM and we will forward the list...all tubers will ship in spring once we start to warm up again!
After typing all this it really doesn't seem like we are doing much 🤔....but trust me we are lol!

We had frost Friday morning that caught me off guard....it's hard to believe we are at the end of the growing season!
Although the gardens will be put to sleep for the winter we are still busy with other projects....this weekend it's homecoming.
Then we move onto wreaths workshops, fall bulb planting, etc.
Today is the last Saturday fresh flowers will be in the wagon until next spring! Limited bouquets starting at 9. Also, if you still need a last minute corsage and bout....or hair comb stop on out we will be here until 12ish.

Also, I do want to take a minute to remind everyone that The Iris Patch is not open to the public. We are only open by appointment...and the flower wagon is only open on Saturdays seasonally.
We do not live at the farm...we live further down the road. Please when you are stopping at the wagon be mindful that we have neighbors and respect their privacy.
Today's pic....a load heading to the compost. We pride ourselves on making the compost pretty! 😂

It's that time of the year...the race against Mother Nature.
She will win. She wins every year, but we give her a good run this time every year!
Pictured here... 2023 spring blooms. Yep, that's right... we are still harvesting '22 blooms and planting for '23 at the same time! It's actually a marathon we are running here.
Those '22 blooms we are still harvesting will be in the wagon today starting at 9. Sunflowers and dahlias. You only have a handful of weeks left to get your fix.

It has been a rough week.... needed the calm of an early morning spent picking flowers.
Actually made myself a bouquet for the kitchen table (I hardly ever do).
Turned the rest of the harvest into bouquets for you guys and stocked the wagon....in case you need a pick-me-up too.

I'm sorry that I have to post this when we are still having temps in the 80s 😭, but...
we need to start preparing for wreath making season!
Sunday November 20 will be decidated just to wreath making. We have rented the historic Pugh Cabin located on the grounds of Malabar Farm for the full day! The fire will be going as we spend the whole day helping everyone make their wreaths.
Several time slots are available...so figure out what time will work best for you and your girlfriends and head over to the website to purchase your tickets.

If Nov. 20 will not work into your schedule we have "kits" available too.
Thanks for allowing me to interrupt your late summer evening with a little crazy talk 😂❄️🌲❄️

Personal post tonight....
Tomorrow this old man and I will celebrate 19 years of marriage.
I use the word "celebrate" loosely...because we will spend the day jumping some ditches harvesting grasses and cattails for fall arrangements...and end the day bickering over who needs to cut up the veggies for the kabobs. Spoiler alert I will do the chopping.
Eric loves that I'm a dreamer... And I love that he keeps my dreams in check.
It works. 💕

Never stop learning...
Lauren and I hit the road early this morning (did it ever feel like fa!!) over to the Wisteria Schack in Fredericksburg (Amish county way).
Had a great morning learning new design skills, how to incorporate all locally grown flowers and wedding cultures within the Amish community.
It's always time well spent when with like minded folks!

I have known for a long time that I needed help with the farm and running the wholesale side of the business Ohio Cut Flower Collective], but I continued to make excuses year after year...that is until this season!
1st smart decision of season '22- asking to document an entire season here at the patch. You will start noticing that the and Ohio Cut Flower Collective] will now have professional photography. Now I will still snap some pics here and there, but for the most part I have officially passed this stress off onto someone who is great at it and enjoys it.
2nd smart decision of season '22- . Abby is Pam's daughter and she is just as talented as her mama! Pictured above...Abby and I captured by Pam.
Abby will be handling all of our social media and keeping us current on the ever changing social media trends. You will also start to see more of the happenings around here! Trust me if you have a business these days you need young blood to keep you up to date on all the social media.
3rd smart decision of season '22- bringing on my friend
Lauren and I have worked together for years at our nursing jobs and this spring Lauren decided she needed to do something different this summer while school was out.... and so of course I mentioned I could use some help! Years of listening to me chat about flowers for hours and hours has finally paid off for her lol! She gets me....she sees the vision...and she is willing to put in the time and labor to help us get there.
I'm so thankful that I have the opportunity to run with my passion!

It has been busy around here... planting, wedding, weddings, running the wholesale and even starting to have a little bit of harvesting to do too. We have had a big cap since the tulips!
We had a couple micro weddings this weekend and the flowers have already been picked up and are heading to the party. Both weddings had a palette of whites, creams and blush.... and we made up a few coordinating bud vases for the wagon. It has been way to long since flowers have graced the little wagon.
We will keep the wagon open today and tomorrow or until sold out! Hopefully this will be the start of more consistent wagon flowers.
Enjoy your weekend ✌️

This picture goes back several years...
I was so proud that I had pulled off growing some nice filler...with the help of mother of course.
My love of flowers and gardening in general I owe thanks to her and my grandma too.

I will be taking the afternoon off to spend time with mother, but first I'm heading down to the wagon now to restock the tulips...if you still need to pick-up something special for the strong, independent, and beautiful women in your life.
Enjoy the ☀️,
Connie

We harvested this load of tulips on Monday evening.

It was the last thing we wanted to do. It was cold, rainy and we had just lost one of our farm hands after just 6 months on the job. At least we could follow-up the sadness with some beauty.
