Our Story

The Golden Bubble is a small business by Wells, Minnesota. We are a venue that can be used for events such as wedding receptions, anniversary parties, company meetings, graduation parties, etc. The Golden Bubble is owned by Jeff & Ann Erickson of Alden, Minnesota.

Golden Bubble History

July 1, 1955 was the first day that the Golden Bubble opened as just the Steakhouse by Dick and Hazel Pfeiffer and Harry Larson. Harry and Marge Krueger(pictured to the left) took over ownership on October 1, 1963. They added the Ballroom onto the Steakhouse and had the Ballroom Grand Opening on Wednesday, December 4, 1963. Harry and Marge sold the Bubble on June 1, 1976 to Ron Palucha, who owned it for 22 months. It traded hands again to Kenny and Gloria Thompson, who owned it from 1978 to 2005. From that point on, it fell into extreme disrepair. In January 2018, Jeff and Ann Erickson, grandson of Harry and Marge Krueger, bought and renovated the Golden Bubble. The Grand Reopening was August 10, 2019.
