Happy birthday, Muri Thunder.
Muritala Ademola Salaudeen, popularly known in the music circles as Genius Muri Alabi Thunder, was born on August 5th, 1973, to Alhaji Tiamiyu Salaudeen Orimadegun Alhaja Mariamo Salaudeen Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, Lagos State. Although he is originally a native of Ibadan Shouth West Local Government Area in Oyo state.
He started his music career at a tender age. In 1999, he signed a record deal with Mosebolatan Music Label, and he recorded his debut same year titled "Optimism." This record brought him into the limelight, and that saw him rise to become one of Nigeria's most successful and patronized Fuji Musicians. His second album titled Wanted was also generally accepted by the ever critical Fuji fans across the nation. His third record, Still Alive, was a true life story of the accident he had with his band boys on his way back to Lagos after a show in Ibadan, Oyo state. It is worthy to state categorically that this fatal accident claims the lives of three of his band boys. He was reported to have died in a fatal accident when no news was forth coming about his whereabouts after the fatal accident. Upon his recovery, he did still live to calm the nerves of his fans worldwide, who thought he died in the accident.
Thanks to his monster hit, GUDUGUDU which eulogizes his deep knowledge and usage of the Yoruba language to pass positive
messages to the political class and the less privileged in the society. This record is so appealing that multinational telecommunication companies uses it for caller tones. Gudugudu made Muri thunder a diverse multi-talented artist cutting across multi ethnic background. In the year 2002, he went on his first ever hajj pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. On his return from the holy land he released another record titled Holy land, his fourth record. This record was also another success, and since then, he has
released so many popular
