Hi folks.
Next Sunday 12th May will be our last open mic until we return again in Spring.
Are there any bands keen to play a set? It would be great to go out with a bang 😊

Howdy folks.
It’s open mic time again and tomorrow night is our second last before we take a break over winter.
Our lineup will kick off at six o’clock with five piece Celtic band Cymbrogi.
Then we’ll have young Billy Parsons, Staz, Slower Tiger (solo double bass) and to finish up the night we have El Duande who are an excellent local four piece playing original tunes reminiscent of early REM and Echo and the Bunnymen.
Please remember to rug up as the evening is held on the back deck and be sure to tell anyone you invite along to bring a granny rug too.

Well it’s the week that we celebrate International Women’s Day 😊
We’ve been looking forward to this open mic as we’re celebrating our local women performers.
We’ve got a chock full lineup including
Lunah (folk harpist extraordinaire)
Alina, a talented young singer songwriter
Ellie Peterson, acoustic singer songwriter
Rachael Kennedy, Jo and Sophie. We’re really happy to have Rach back for the first time since she handed over the open mic reigns to us.
Typical Grrrls, high energy punk, bring your ear plugs 😉
And closing the evening will be Kristen, AKA Hearty Fire. Kristen is a super talented singer songwriter with some tasty hooks you’ll love.

Hey folks
Open mic is on tomorrow night and we have not one but two local bands for you to enjoy.
We have Attack Goose and Mitchell Pearce Trio.
Also playing is Bridie Beth and from Bathurst we have Jeff Cisco.
Come and enjoy a great pub meal and a beer on the back deck.
Oh and next month we’ll be celebrating International Women’s Day with a line up of all women performers.

We have Alina back again and also local sister/brother duo Blue Hill (possibly also with Chet on bass) , Mara will be playing for us for the first time as will new local all women punk outfit The Typical Grrrls. Can’t wait for this one.

We have a big night lined up for you all tomorrow night with not just one but two bands playing for you.
Positive Spin are a three piece psych rock/blues outfit playing originals and some really great stuff.
Red Planet Repairs are another mountains three piece who sometimes have guest vocalists join them. Corin Shearston who most of you may know as a very fine drummer will be singing with them.
Bass driven metal of sort that I cannot name but definitely don’t miss them, they’re great.
Night kicks off at 6 out on the back deck of the Gardners Inn.

Heya folks.
We’re back from our winter break and kicking off again tomorrow night from 6 o’clock on the back deck at the Gardners Inn, Blackheath.
Please, please, please rug up as it’s going to be a chilly one.
Don your uggies and beanie and bring your grannie rug. You won’t regret it.
Oh and we plan on having a bit of an impromptu impro jam with all welcome (except triangle players because the triangle truly sucks).
Bring your instruments, voice or whatever.

We start back on the Sunday 10th September. Remember it’s always the second Sunday of the month.

Hey folks! It’s that time again 😊Tomorrow night is the last open mic until we come back in Spring.
We’ve got a good one to finish up with some excellent acts.
First up we have Kristen AKA Hearty Fire playing her awesome original folk tunes.
Next up we have a new one to our stage, Alina Grace who’s sixteen and an incredible song writer. Definitely looking forward to her set.
Then we have Positive Spin, a local three piece band playing original psych/blues/rock.
After Positive Spin we have The Narrownecks who really are incredible musicians and songwriters. I saw them play at a festival six months ago and got in contact with them straight away to ask them to play for us.
If you enjoy banjo, acoustic guitar and beautifully written tunes you’ll love them I’m sure.
And last up we have our own sound guy Will AKA Deep Sbass playing a chill electronic set.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Rug up as it may be quite cold out on the deck. Bring your ups and a granny rug.

The Wrinklepickers are a two piece who’ve recently moved from the UK and play original country, hillbilly, rockabilly. Should be a fun one.

So here’s our lineup for tonight folks

6:00 Blue Hill original three piece with two guitars, bass and vocals. Folk/indie/pop/rock

6:30 Emily Riggs and Neil Beaver original acoustic rock/blues (guitar, bass, vocals)

7:00 Hurdy Gurdy two piece guitar, keys and vocals with some excellent Dire Straights sounds.

7:30 Acid Amora. Young mountains four piece with two guitars, bass, drums and vocals.
These guys will be playing a longer set as our showcase act for the night. Originals with inspiration coming from bands like Iron Maiden, Smashing Pumpkins and the Foo Fighters.

8:30 Daniel Cook playing blues/folk/jazz

9:00 Austin AKA Day Moon will be finishing up the evening with his infectious original hip hop tunes and very likeable dance moves.

Come early and support our venue and buy a great pub feed and enjoy the sunshine on the back deck.

Well folks we have a full evening of entertainment for you coming up this Sunday night including an excellent young and local band Acid Amora.
With fair weather forecast this month’s night on the back deck is looking to be a good one with lots of variety from blues, jazzy, indie folk, rock and some hip hop.

The Blackheath Open Mic is held on the second Sunday of each month on the back deck of the Gardners Inn.
We aim to showcase a variety of acts from all genres and levels of experience from those completely new to performing through to seasoned players. We include anything from solo performers through to bands and have a great sound system and a wizard who knows how to use it.
Performers are usually given a half hour slot but can play a shorter set if that’s what they’d prefer.
We often allocate an hour long set for a band or showcase act.
Slots often fill well before the night so it pays to contact us early.
If you or anyone you know is keen to play then send us a message.
