The Committee of Panathlon Clubs of Universities (PCU Committee) is the university platform of Panathlon International, the global leader in sport ethics and IOC recognised since 1982. The PCU Committee organizes and endorses university sport events with the focus on fair play.

The 6th AP | PCU Bridge Trophy opened with welcoming words from Gert Christens of the AP Hogeschool Student Center and Kristof De Cnodder from the Antwerp Student Bridge Club DUA.

The AP | PCU Bridge Trophy is back at AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts Antwerp. This weekend, university bridge teams from Austria, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany will compete, celebrating Fair Play and Universal Friendship.

During the recent Panathlon Vlaanderen evening at the old Abbey in Drongen, the AP | PCU Drawing and Photo Contests added a unique artistic dimension to the event, featuring a keynote speech by Team Belgium CEO Cedric Van Branteghem.

Initiating PCU Belgrade FON projects 🤝

The PCU President met with Dejan Markovski of the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Organizational Sciences (Fakultet organizacionih nauka Univerziteta u Beogradu) to discuss and initiate future projects, including the establishment of a yearly PCU Conference focused on ethics in student sport.

The drawings from the were presented to new elected President Giorgio Chinellato and Past President Pierre Zappelli.

In his presidential campaign speech, Giorgio Chinellato paid special attention to the activities of PCU clubs and Panathlon Junior clubs, as well as promoting the movement and Olympic principles on social media.

The election took place during the 51th General Elective Assembly of the Panathlon International in Agrigento in Italy.

Congratulations to the new Panathlon International President and International Board, and gratitude to the Past President and Panathlon team for their outstanding contributions.

The 51st General Assembly and the 22nd International Congress took place on June 14, 2024, at the Hotel Dioscuri Bay Palace in Agrigento, Italy.

During the General Ordinary Meeting the International Board's activity and financial reports were presented.
The Erasmus+ project presentation included the report on the Sport Against Match-Fixing Project.
The Code of Ethics was approved.

As part of the PI International Congress, the round table discussion on "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Sports for Women" featured an outstanding lineup of speakers:

- Raffaella Masciadri (I) - Athlete - President of the CONI Athletes Commission
- Maria Luiza Souza Dias (BR) - ISCA Vice-President
- Carla Spielmann (CH) - Member PI Expansion Commission

The day concluded with the Gala Dinner, during which the "Communication Awards" were presented to clubs that have excelled in promoting Panathlon values.

🇹🇳 Honor to be welcomed by the Ministry of Youth and Education in Tunisia. We had fruitful discussions about the potential for international cooperation in sports and education.
Projects and agreements for future cooperation to support and develop the fields of sports and physical education within university institutions were represented during the meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Kamel Deguiche, on Friday, May 3, 2024. Also present were Mr. Chokri Ben Hassen, Chief of Staff of the Ministry, Mr. Foued El Ouni, Director-General of the National Observatory for Youth, Ms. Sonia Turki, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, and a delegation representing university sports organizations and higher education institutions from Belgium, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

Happy 1st of May! With gratitude to each of the 61 teams and their athletes, as well as to the Rectors, National University Sport Federation Presidents, Directors, Heads of Delegations, referees, volunteers, and staff who collectively orchestrated an unforgettable experience at the 25th PCU Games. Their dedication and spirit made it truly remarkable.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts and Antwerp, the gracious host of the 2024 PCU Games. Special recognition is due to Gert Christens, Director of the Student Center at AP, whose efforts were instrumental in bringing the PCU Games to life in the dynamic city of Antwerp.

University Sport can make a difference

The mission of the PCU Committee is the achievement of the sporting ideal and the establishment of its cultural and moral values as a means towards the development and advancement of the individual and solidarity between men and people, especially on a university level by uniting all Panathlon Clubs of Universities. To this end, the PCU Committee is entitled by Panathlon International to organize the Panathlon World Interuniversity Club Games and to endorse Student Tournaments in accordance with the aims of Panathlon International.
