Everything has felt upside down 🙃 . . .

I haven't posted ANYTHING for so long! Unfortunately, my 2023 ended in a car accident. On my way to photograph a winter wedding, mid December, someone ran a red light and drove directly into the driver side of my car. Even today, over a month later, I feel like I am still dusting myself off and picking up the pieces.

As a type A personality, the thought of a new year and a fresh start is always refreshing to me. I look forward to personal and business goal setting, vacation plans, refreshing my website & social media, and everything else that comes with that feeling of a blank slate.

2024 may not have started out as a "fresh start" like so many other years, BUT I am doing all I can to heal. Every day I will get stronger not only physically, but mentally. The right attitude and mentality is at least 50% of the battle if not more! I have found myself frustrated and discouraged. I have not been patient or kind to myself. I'm working on that!!!

So here's a NEW YEAR reminder: Be kind...Always!! ...and don't forget to show some of that kindness to yourself 🩶

This sweet girl's story brought me to tears. As a photographer I wanted to portray her as the strong woman she is today. She is beautiful, she has value, she is loved, she's a daughter and a sister, she's a dog mom, and now she is a wife.

Everyone's story has some dark and some light...some pain and some happiness.

I am so blessed to photograph all the moments ✨️

The last weekend in April started wedding season for me!! It was rainy and cold, but I could not be more happy to be back!! The off season seemed extra long for me and I started feeling depressed.

Weddings are pure energy for me!! I feel at home behind the camera and I love soaking up all the happiness from the couple and their families. I truly feel all the moments of each wedding day.

Ahhhhh, I'm so excited for this year and all the happy couples I'll get to photograph!

...had to add extra emotion with an empowering song ✌🏻

A few years ago my daughter confided in me that she was struggling with loving herself. I remember it like it was yesterday, the two of us sat together in the parking lot of a coffee shop and she told me that every morning she would look at herself in the mirror and say out loud "you are ugly", "you are fat", "you are stupid", "you aren't good". My heart broke and I cried with her in the car that day. The tears stream down my face even now as I type these words. My heart broke for her. I needed her to see herself the way I saw her. I needed to show her that God made her beautiful. The next week we did, what I like to call, a "Self-Esteem" photo shoot 🫶🏻 The pictures I captured of my 13 year old daughter were stunning and she thought so too. We've been doing these photo shoots ever since. Now she is 17 and I'm thrilled to say these sessions have not only boosted her self esteem and mental health, but they have built such a strong bond between the two of us. Jayden has given me permission to post about this, in hopes that other girls will find what makes them feel beautiful too 💛 Love you @jayd.54.shaf Remind your daughters AND sons that they are loved, they are beautiful, that are important and you are so proud of them
