HELLO SMØR Family!
Writing here to introduce TuTiki https://tu-tiki.com/, the non-perishable version of SMØR (think tights and tees designed by Tat).
A few designs are now ready and posted if your wardrobe is hungry. Like SMØR the menu will change, but each TuTiki offering will be crafted with creativity and LOVE and always reasonably priced.
The National Park tees are inspired by the beautiful WPA posters from the 1930s. The creative work, born of the WPA's pro-social pragmatism is worth celebrating alongside the majesty of our great open spaces.
The Ukraine tees are as feisty as I feel about that whole situation. Some are of St. Javeline, some depict Zelensky on his Servant of The People bike. My favorite of these designs is the one I call, "We are Protecting Ukraine", a quote from Zelensky in the early days of the invasion.
Dandelion Canvas High-Tops: This time of year my maternal grandmother, Florence would go out to dig dandelion greens. She would wrap them carefully and send them to her friend through the mail. I never asked, but I wonder now, why? and where did this friend live? Don't we all have dandelions? Dandelions remind me that we can choose what we value and that friendships are sustained with love and require little to no material input. These Kicks can be pre-ordered now, but won't be ready until early May.
Finally, the tights, leggings, or whatever you wanna call them... TuTiki's Tight Pants (everybody's talking 'bout my tight pants!)... I wear these running and swimming in the sea, as well as when I go ashtanga-ing up at the cliff pavilion. They are UPF 50+, lightweight (in a good way), super soft and comfortable.. and a ton of fun to design.
The only complaint I ever got at SMØR (that I heard) was from a hangry cyclist at a big bike race. He ordered the SuperHero sandwich (organic peanut-butter, carrots, sprouts, Tillamook cheddar between two slabs of seeded whole grain bread). He said I was slow. I was that day. I was, as we say in the restaurant biz, "in the weeds". Since SMØR was still kinda new, I had yet to hire the ever-fabulous Ms. White and the Maxie Ford queens. (Aw gawd, I can't even write of these amazing humans now without feeling joy and deep gratitude.)
Anyway, I think I have any slowness issues figured out for TuTiki. Free shipping to anywhere in the US is set to run about a week. This probably is slow to some people, but you won't be ordering your first meal after a mega bike race on TuTiki, so hopefully this time-frame is acceptable.
