I am ALL about the fall vibes this past week. Maybe it was the release of the or the weather; but bring it on.
Went down a creative idea spiral today that was totally unplanned & the feeling it gave me reminded me of how proud I am of this shoot. My favorite to date - in my own backyard with my girls!! The colors in this shoot, the fall inspo, and hint of Iranian culture forever remain a fave. And also pumped me up to make sure my next idea comes to life too [just need the time 😂]

F O U R years ago today I did my first styled shoot as a wedding planner. I remember working my tail off in planning for it. I am a connector at my core so it brought me nothing but joy to do this first one with good friends who all ended up becoming good friends with each other years later 😭
What I remember most from this shoot are the things no one will ever see past the highlights. The hot sun making us sweat. My dad holding the reflector thing for Yasmin while she shot. Jess & Gabe following my every order in getting hair, makeup, and wardrobe done as I envisioned lol. And Blair, Yasmin, & I dying of laughter at the very end. Call it tired syndrome or what have you — it was just so much fun even amidst being exhausted.

I remember the sheer joy when I found out the shoot was picked up by a wedding blog for publication a month later.
I guess I’m just reflecting on how good it feels to accomplish what you set your mind to. To forecast a vision & see it come to life. And then to have fun with it. To mostly do it for yourself just to prove yourself you CAN do it. Be encouraged in whatever you’re working towards, friend. That drive, passion, and zeal is what matters most. Never forget that your worth and value does not come from the accomplishment itself. But just have fun, pat yourself on the back, and move onto the next endeavor. 🤍

HAPPY MONDAY ••• Had to share the news on this account too! I am so excited to announce I have launched a little passion project during Covid; a PODCAST!
NAS-TALGIA is a pretty rad podcast that aims to take you back in time to those memories that give you all da good feelz. We’re taking it way back to middle school here in the prime of the mid to late 90s. So excited to release Episode 1 this morning: “Naseem Explains it All.”
We’re gonna geek out on the science of what’s happening to our mind and brain when we’re reminiscing. We’re gonna talk about your old Furby. The scents. The books. The movies. And of course; my one true love - the Backstreet Boys.

Coming from an Iranian family, hosting gatherings for friends and family came naturally to her. But little did she know, while job hunting at the age of 26, that she would eventually end up hosting events of her own. It was then that her event planning company, Naseem Events, was born.

2019 was a year of blissful transition for Naseem Events. After becoming full time on staff at Awakening Church in July, I knew it was confirmation that it was time to focus most of my energy on that role (my dream job!) and move my business to more of a side hustle.
What a joy to end the year reflecting on one of my favorite weddings of the year - and truly of life! I had the honor of planning this wedding for a family friend that I truly consider my auntie. This day was filled with unconditional love, the reality that miracles happen, and God is so sovereign.
Took a village of insanely talented women to make this come together and I am so proud of us!
Beyond that, I am so excited for 2020 — for the freedom to be more picky and choosy with the clients and projects I take on; and most importantly for the reality in knowing I succeeded in stepping outside my comfort zone 4 years ago and created a flourishing business from nothing. I’ve learned endless lessons, created such sweet bonds, and grown in flexing my creativity. Cheers to whatever God has to come - my hands are open; use me!🥰 @ Faz Restaurants and Catering Sunnyvale

This week has started off fun ☺️ Had the privilege of planning our church staff Christmas party & it’s always one for the books. Since this party was super early in December, I still had fall vibes in mind. I loved incorporating brown hues for this one & focused more on dimension and height VS pops of color.
Chargers always make a big difference! Love working with as their collection always brings it all together. Opted for gold flatware paired with their new white stone plates 😍
My favorite part was working with my friend and artist extraordinarie who did all the flowers by hand. Note how you don’t always need an elaborate centerpiece but greenery adds so much to bring it all together! @ Willow Glen, San Jose, California

This birthday I’m just basking in the glow of all the love surrounding me. I’ve never felt so seen and loved by the people in my life. And simultaneously resting in the joy of God’s faithfulness and perfect timing for everything. He is enough. And then some.
Thankful for the growth, confidence, and freedom that this year has brought. Cheers to 30. Wow.
