Join us on June 6th at Pelican Brewing Siletz Bay for a special Orca Action Month event hosted by our local partners at Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition. Oregon Shores will highlight our crucial work in protecting Oregon’s ecosystems and coastal areas, ensuring a thriving habitat for wildlife, including whales. Marine biologist Josh McInnes will present his ongoing research on orcas’ use of Oregon waters. Josh will provide valuable insights into the natural history and ecology of transient killer whales, highlighting their role as apex predators and specialization in foraging for marine mammals. Learn about the diverse sub-populations of transient killer whales, ranging from Southern California to the Bering Sea, each with unique social and geographic characteristics. With changes in ocean ecosystems, understanding the impact of transient killer whales on prey becomes crucial.

This weekend officially marks 28 years of independent brewing here at Pelican Brewing Company. We opened the doors at our flagship brewpub location in Pacific City on May 4th, 1996 with just four core beers and one seasonal selection. Since then, the beer lineup has grown and we have taken our beer from sea to city and beyond. The past 28 years have been amazing and we can't wait for all the years to come. Cheers, fellow fanatics!
