Wedding florals are about more than just looking, or even feeling, a particular way, they cultivate precious moments that will forever stick out when you look back on your big day. 🥹

I distinctly remember being a flower girl at 5 years old at my cousin’s wedding. I still have the dress to this day, I wore it until it ripped. I remember the umbrella I carried the petals in, I remember running out of petals before the end of the aisle and crying ( 😂 ) When I think of my cousin(and her now late husband ❤️) I think of that day, and I know there are times even now my family looks at me and for a moment sees that little kiddo walking down the aisle 🥹

Whether it be the placing of a boutonnière on a groom from a mother, or the bride handing off her bouquet during the ceremony to her MOH and childhood best friend while they say their vows, we know that your wedding florals are more than ‘just flowers’ - they’re lifelong memories🥹

This couple wanted peonies throughout with an artistic flare. Variation keeps the eye moving throughout the room and inevitably to the couple at the head table 🥹 Our local flower farming community came through in abundance for this big day(but no surprise there❤️)

As you spend time with some family or cooking out, just remember that we are living on stolen land and it is our responsibility to be the best members of our community as we can, uplifting the voices around us in lieu of our own ❤️ I’m still planning various activism work, so keep your eyes out, I just also needed to take a little bit of time to recover from such a busy opening to the season💕

Lucy and Brian’s May wedding ended up being the absolutely perfect weekend to not only marry each other, but also marry their event with local peony season 💕

Lucy and I coincidentally went to high school together and didn’t realize until after we were booked for her wedding, but that gave me all the more excitement to make her peony dreams come to life. She didn’t have an exact vision in mind for a floor installation, just something to take up the space in front of the sweetheart table. I wanted to craft something pretty and flowy that brought the eye up to the couple and this lil baby was born 🥹

As we all know well, sometimes planning big events months out using strictly local flowers can be a real nail biter! Lucy went into her wedding knowing the peony season is short and uncertain, and I was honored to be able to walk into her big day with literally hundreds of peony blooms and I cannot stress how incredible of a feeling it is to know you’re making their floral vision come to life. You truly cannot control the weather, or if there is a storm, a late frost, an early heat, etc, and my gratitude runs deep for my people at and for the dedication they put in every single day to their craft, and in turn into making special days like Lucy and Brian’s come to fruition 🥹 thank yall for being a part of my village 🥹

Almost as (and to me, arguably more important than) the dress: the Bridal 💐

Like any artistic field, curating a vision from what someone has inside their head can provide challenges, but tailoring your event to your style is our specialty and passion.

As someone who has always stood out a little bit (especially as a lil scene kid in conservative NC) I put significant value on stylistic choices being authentic to the person they’re involving. It’s a statement piece, and it should be a statement about YOU 💕

Britt was such a neat bride to work with, who had some tastes and style desires for her wedding that different some from what her loved ones might have anticipated(more colorful vs muted pastels) and it is so unique and special to get to learn each person’s quirks 🥰

Britt picked the perfect time of year for the flowers that she wanted and I love this all local filled beauty, with Britt’s favorite blue hydrangeas (yes, they held up in the heat!) nestled into an array of zinnias, celosia, scabiosa, amaranth, cosmos and more 🥰

If you’re in NC, these colorful beauties are no stranger to you, you probably see all sorts of shades of hydrangeas just driving through the neighborhood! All the same, I was elated to see these on the flower bar 😍😍

Hydrangeas are notoriously finicky, and I’ve tried just about every trick in the book to get them to snap back when some have inevitably wilted sooner than I’d hope - which is why I was absolutely awestruck at these hydrangeas from Parker Farm & Vineyard. They lasted through an afternoon outdoor summer wedding, they lasted for ages on my table, and I truly just really love firsthand seeing how much of a difference local makes, compared to the hundreds of imported hydrangeas I worked with earlier in my career.

Supporting local not only is important for the community and environment, it simply will guarantee you a fresher and more quality product. Period.

☀️ Summertime Zinnias ☀️

In the language of flowers, zinnias symbolize endurance. These flowers have a strong resistance to heat, drought, and diseases, showcasing their ability to withstand challenging conditions, which make them the perfect accent to our Father’s Day Bloom Bar with this weekend! As they say on their website, “this project illuminates the multifaceted experiences of black men, shedding light on their vulnerability and inner strength, much like a budding blossom pushing through the cracks of adversity.”

Beautiful, strong, resilient and in an array of shades, I couldn’t think of a better focal flower in include in this event 🥹

We are so excited to officially announce our partnership with AND debut our first ever Flowers for Father’s Day Bloom Bar event! 🎉 🎉 They say most men don’t get flowers until their funerals and I’ll be damned if it stays that way in the triangle ❤️ I’ve been an outspoken advocate of giving men flowers and to find this incredible organization was like kismet.

We will be at the incredible this Sunday June 17 from 12-4 offering incredible (and free🥰) custom bouquets curated by me and featuring amazing local blooms from and !

The Black Men Flower Project was founded in 2021 by founder Robert Washington-Vaugns and strives to redefine societal norms by celebrating the beauty and strength of black masculinity. An exert from their website says ‘This pioneering movement seeks to challenge stereotypes and foster healing within the black community…

At my first florist job, they asked my in my interview what my favorite flower was. I said celosia, thinking of a different variety but loving each one none the less. It always adds such a unique flare to arrangements!

Bee Balm 🐝

Native to North America, Native Americans used bee balm leaves and flowers to make a variety of medicinal salves and drinks. Although Despite being called “wild bergamot,” bee balm is not used in “bergamot” tea (a.k.a. Earl Grey tea).

With stunning colors, beautiful blooms and unique structure, it’s been fun to mix these into my first summer bouquets of the season 🥰

It sure is starting to feel like summer out there! ☀️

Happy Pride Month, my beautiful friends 🌈

I am proud to be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community in more ways than one and am always elated when June comes around to give us a little extra love!!

Here’s a friendly reminder that: flowers, like love, are not bound to a particular gender or facet of human. Celebrating love is a joy for me and I love how flowers find themselves in all sorts of beautiful occasions surrounding love!

I will not work with anyone that isn’t openly inclusive and supportive of the LGBTQIA+ community(as well as BIPOC individuals, etc) and that includes but is not limited to: venues, suppliers, photographers, individuals, etc. You are safe with me, exactly as you are🌈
